I am thinking along your lines, but I think it is a group of them. The question is a group needs something in common to hold them together, so what is it?

Very true, but have you ever seen one like this? I mean this dude(s) driving around and shooting people with a high powered rifle right in the middle of the city. And getting away with it. No firm leads, no witnesses. If this guy is just some crazed nutjob, then he sure knows how to hold his temper (so to speak).

Another thing is usually your psycotic(sp?) killers like to do things more up-close and personal. When was the last time you've seen a killer that shot people from long range. No man, this is something different, I'm almost sure of it. Just a gut feeling, and if you ever saw my gut, you'd know why it works like a major radar installation.... :-}

Ask any insurance carrier what is the "safest color" vehicle to drive...which is MOST likely to stand out in a human's field of vision.......WHITE and YELLOW...I think the eyewitnesses are offering what their brains registered and remembered...

Bowie Maryland shooting...police found the SPOT the sniper was shooting from..."flattened" grass...this too did not involve a vehicle.

There is one more environmental tie-in: the guy shot mowing the lawn was doing it for a car dealership -- every entity that promotes fuel consumption, meat-eating, lumbering, development, hunting or gun rights is evil to these people, of course.

Thanks,

My main concern is that it is a group. I think it is paramilitary in nature and most of them have a cause. Question is what cause would these killings serve? The only one I can come up with so far is "terrorism". Terroism for what would be the next thing I would look at and random terrorism look a lot like an aatack on the people of the USA. Who that wan't to do that would carry out these killings... Just trying to connect the dots.

Shootings at gas stations, at same time that al Qaeda (presumably) targeted a French oil tanker.

"I just see so many posts where people seem to practically long for this to be a Muslim vs. a homegrown U.S. citizen"

No offense my friend, but don't most of your posts do just the opposite? Seems like you long for it to be a U.S. citizen. Just like the media?

I know it is fun to look things up on Google and see what crazy things turn up. Here is something I've found. It looks like some kind of gaming club, but I can't figure out what the heck it's all about. Certainly has a violent edge to it.

http://www.geocities.com/l33tw3rkz/dj-members.html

Look partway down under the picture of the guy giving the middle finger. In what ever game they play, he is a sniper and calls himself God.

Also on some page there is a freaky looking picture with described as "my current state of mind."

Looks like a bunch of harmless goofballs that take themselves too seriously, but I thought you might find it interesting. Forgive me if someone threw this up here already.

If nothing else it further confirms that God is a name for a sniper, and this may have no religious overtones whatsover.

But Washington Times reported on both Tuesday and Wednesday that a white van had been seen leaving the scene of the Bowie shooting.

Doesn't seem to me that the police believe this is a "drive by"...seems to me they think the "perp" approcahed the site using natural cover...propped his rifle on a steady object and fired...

First of all, I believe that anyone that murders someone is crazy, period. This person, or persons, is, indeed very shrewd. Just because we haven't seen anything like this, doesn't mean no one has thought of it, I mean there's a guy on this very thread that said he thought of the same scenario while driving his van! By it's definition, any random act, whether it's violent or not is pretty near impossible to predict, much less apprehend the person performing it. If this person truly just wants to kill people, ie a pure predator, he/she picked the best way. Of course I don't rule out terrorism either. What better country on earth, to perform random acts such as this, than the US? What better time than now? Anyone that watches the news in this country could pretty well predict that there would be copy-cats coming out everywhere. I believe it was in this country that the term, copy-cat killer was coined. Unless, by pure luck, some law enforcer stumbles onto this act in progress, I don't think we will ever truly know who did it. I do understand gut feelings, is yours a surface search or fire-control?

A couple of thoughts:

1. Surveyors in our area all know each other and someone would likely stop to say hello. If they were working in a Plaza, someone would likely come up to them and ask them what they were doing. The equipment is VERY expensive and carry traceable numbers.

2. Somewhere I suggested talking to the groundskeeper if they saw someone a while back that looked suspicious....THEN I realized that a guy mowing a lawn was shot..at a gas station?? Did they shot a witness rather than someone pumping gas??

Think I'd talk to this family and see if he had said anything about "someone unusual".

IMHO, we citizens must carry a fresh battery cell phone, camera, and handgun at their side as well as a rifle and shotgun within reach, with adequate ammunition as a hot engagement should be anticipated. (Recall the full-body armored, full auto bank robbers in L.A.?)

We outnumber our cops some 3,000:1; citizens's eyes will see first and so must participate in recording, tracking, and countering=self-defense until overwhelming LE force can arrive. Photograph all people and vehicles which you sense to be curious. Tail and call 911 about any which you suspect.

Don't be shocked if a second vehicle is involved as lookout/backup to hose any accidental first witness/cop on the scene. Expect explosives. (I would recommend for your cars/offices a serious first aid kit heavy with wound bandages/maxi-pads.) Be careful, but be there.

This "crime spree" must be considered war crimes by illegal combatants until the perps are collared. The longer this goes on, the more likely other perps will copy this M.O. whether jihad or not. Mo' ham? No thanks.

We are our militia under our Constitution. Fretting with the sheeple among the defenseless flock is no answer to this clear and present danger. We must ride to the sound of the guns, with something more than curiosity and a desire to be interviewed by ABCCNNCBSNBC.
