My grandfather did a demo for me when I was about 10: That chicken did indeed run around with his head cut off and took about 2 hours to cook "in a pressure cooker" besides.
His other demos were:
Lighting a piece of paper and putting it in a rabbit hole so I could watch the rabbit come out somewhere else.
Putting his dogs paw (poor Jack) on the electric fence so I could see what happened if I touched it. I was very little (maybe 4 or 5) when he showed me that. He must have been very worried I would touch it.
We plucked chickens when I was a kid (I'm 60). No big deal but it makes my chicken loving friend barf if I mention it.

"And I would bet the rent, they already know if it
was a rifle or shotgun. That much would be clear to any homicide detective........"
They do know. That's why it's been passed on to the ATF.

You bet they do.

I caught the last few minutes of the press conference.
They wouldn't say what type of weapon was used, nor would they say where the victim was hit. It's the sniper IMO.
The spokesman was shitting bricks while trying to appear calm.
Next press conference at 8 or 9 a.m. I'm hitting the hay. It wasn't a shotgun IMO, even though they wouldn't say so.

I agree. Reading between the lines of what they had to say (or didn't say), I would bet dollars to doughnuts that it was a rifle or pistol round.
To: Fred Mertz
Yep, they know. And know we know. This stinks.

In the event this is the work of jihadists and what they're up to. Or, is this part of the attack zwalahari( yea, it's speeled wrong) and the FBI are looking for?
The tarot card leak is a ruse to elicit a response, because Moose's boys are otherwise without clues.
To date, it tells them where our resources will come from, how we operate and how we think.
True, but they're also forcing action.
DC is now surrounded.
Not quite, but it's under apparent assault from all directions. The desired action jihadists are looking for is massive shutdown to find a "sniper". The jihadists need to keep their activities sporadic and not get caught. That way they maximize the response to catch them and they don't tip their hand of what they're really up to.
I can't see a motive except "kill americans"
Absolutely, that's what the jihadists are after. They're after the big time kill though. Once they condition Moose's boys to shut down everything to catch the "sniper", they'll deploy sufficient snipers to shutdown the whole DC and surrounding area. Then they'll set off their WMD(s).

I've had a CCL in Texas for 8 years, but I don't gas up my car with my Sig in my right hand! But under the circumstances now existing in the DC area, it might not be such a bad idea. Better yet, somebody riding "Shotgun" with you, literally, or almost, I'd have them armed with a rifle.

Last thought before signing of...
I think it is the sniper, who now will only be making clear head shots. I don't think he is too happy that 2 of victims are still alive and I bet he will make sure that he does not leave behind anymore survivors.

Agree..

Are the police doing this so the killers can-not enjoy the suffering. No, there is a news blackout of the family coming on tv because the shooters are terrorists.

Yes- he was great, actually. Hope we get him again for the morning update and don't get moved back to MD.

I tend to agree, it could very well be sniper guy....
To: El Gato
I would gas up at a station that's far from the main highways.

Looks like they're trying to decide what to withold and to perhaps look at some videos. We're distinctly away from any of the other areas hit previously.

Captain Deane's been muzzled in case you didn't notice. He needs to check his undergarments for stray marks.
To: El Gato
There is no viable defense to a sniper except staying indoors with the curtains drawn.
Now I am all for CCW, and someone who is "carrying" may nail the sniper in his lair or leaving it, but someone standing near the victim will never see the sniper or get an effective shot off at him.
To: Conservababe
I agree with you, Conservababe.

There is no viable defense to a sniper except staying indoors with the curtains drawn.Agree, and the only hope, is that if sniper guy trips, they'll make sure he falls. Hopefully......
