It's 6:30 a.m. EST and we're waiting to go to the second press conference providing media and local updates on the Maryland sniper shootings. To date, the 13 year old boy has survived the evening and seems to be improving. Fox News mentioned that his aunt is a nurse. The police briefing at 6:15 a.m. mentioned Todd Beamer's Let's Roll comment and police are urging people to use caution, good judgment, but remain strong and try to continue with everyday life as much as possible.
Police had a search warrant last night (didn't say for who or where) related to the sniper shootings, but the search did not provide any information to LEO.

...what are the chances of reviewing satellite imagery in an attempt to identify fleeing vehicles ... I wouldn't be surprised if a keyhole bird was being postioned for that, but, as a matter of course, we don't have the need for comprehensive surveillance on CONUS..

You could be right but what about those soldiers who killed their wives just recently and also in the NY Post there was a about the Sailor who shoved his shipmate out of a window in a hotel on Madison Avenue just the other day and then calmly went back to sleep.
SHIPMATE SHOCKER. It is not unbelievable. This sniper could have just snapped. Or he could be a hunter that just snapped. But AGAIN, that's just my opinion. I am keeping mind open.

Driver can also be acting as a lookout.
To: GeorgeandtheDralgore
Of course not! But the driver has to stay at the wheel to escape right after his partner's shooting is done. Are there any "box" trucks mfd that have access to the truck bed from the driver's seat (i.e., without getting out of the truck)?
My gut keeps telling me this is a lone, young, white male wacko.

Anyone who doesn't keep an open mind, is the nut, IMO. Just because terrorism hasn't happened this way in the US in the past, doesn't mean it won't happen this way in the future. We've been warned by the enemy and to disregard their agenda is foolhardy.

...it's nearly impossible for LEO's to protect us from this kind of crime. But we can get get him, can't we? I think so. We might need to take down the airplane to do it, but I think we can get him.
You and I seem to agree more than I thought to begin with.
To: CobaltBlue
If it were me, I'd be looking at all men in Maryland who got hunting licenses recently.... Should only be several thousand potential suspects.;^)
Bbbbut, wouldn't that ('This violates the presumption of innocence.') per your #255

Question, Kim and others: If I bookmark this site, will I be able to later open some of the excellent links located here, or should I open each link individually and bookmark?

>>>>>His or her tactics are.<<<<<<
I totally agree. For those with hearts black enough, killing is a fairly simple matter; doped out gang bangers do it all the time. Getting away with it is the part that takes a high degree of calculation. Aside from the technical abillity to make a shot, the E&E aspect of the operation conducted by this team shows some skill.

1. that you cannot be safe anywhere
2. the police cannot protect you
3. the police are draconian and are out to get you.Actually, there is an element of truth to all three statements... Violent criminals (not just terrorists) are everywhere, and prey on their victims wherever they can be found. Personal safety and security are our own responsibility, as the police have no duty to protect any individual except criminals in their custody. Finally, if one's a firearms enthusiast, there's a whole agency (the BATF) devoted to one's entrapment, arrest, and imprisionment.

Those on FR who don't know what a real A--hole looks like should turn on Fox News. Gov. Spendenning has finally decided to get some face time on the shooting spree.

"driver could also be lookout"
Oh absolutely, and it's probably the way it's going down, one shooter, one driver. We were just speculating a two person, two shooter line.

Glenspending on? What's the old goat saying?
To: The Other Harry
Yes, we do seem to agree and had a feeling you thought we didn't. But, if like me, you aren't operating on all 4 burners today - that could be why!

Could be two men, or one man and one woman. Excellent point. A woman driver in a minivan would the most innocuous presentation possible, IMO.
