It's 6:30 a.m. EST and we're waiting to go to the second press conference providing media and local updates on the Maryland sniper shootings. To date, the 13 year old boy has survived the evening and seems to be improving. Fox News mentioned that his aunt is a nurse. The police briefing at 6:15 a.m. mentioned Todd Beamer's Let's Roll comment and police are urging people to use caution, good judgment, but remain strong and try to continue with everyday life as much as possible.
Police had a search warrant last night (didn't say for who or where) related to the sniper shootings, but the search did not provide any information to LEO.

OK I have a theory just my own no proof nothing.
Vera Katz whom Chief Moose use to work under had one of the Oregon Muslims working as an intern twice and Katz was known to not want to interfere with Arab-Americans by searching for possible cells.
Now about 6 Arabs have been arrested here in Oregon.
How soon after that did the sniper shootings start in Chief Mooses area back east?
Since breaking up the group here in Oregon could a cell be paying back the Chief who had ties to Katz?
Far fetched yes but these terror Arabs seem to do pretty senseless things in my view.

Maryland is a "show cause" state with handgun permits being issued at the discretion of the state police only to those they deem to have a compelling reason to have one, and self defense does not qualify unless you've previously been threatened and it can be substantiated through police investigation. Business owners can generally qualify, but the permit is then restricted to only when conducting business. Generally, Maryland prefers its average subject to be disarmed and helpless, and the state police position is that they "can't trust" the average citizen to have a gun.
Virginia, OTOH, is a shall-issue state.

This shooter is good. One shot is all he needs.
Even if you're carrying, you won't see him.
Whether he's a psycho, or a terrorist, he's good at his craft.
For some reason, I'm leaning towards that the shootist is a swarthy, middle-eastern fellow.
Just a hunch.

you know...I think this would be one of those projects that I would actually FINISH...unlike the various painting, refinishing, etc., projects which make up the place I call 'home'. Yikes!! For a moment I thought I had written this post. It's sooo much like me, especially the 98% finished home projects.
It's finally become what I call my "signature". That way people know I did it...or 98% did it.

I tend to agree with your conclusion that the shootings outside Montgomery County are the exceptions and are intended to draw attention away from where the shooter is based. Since I live in Anne Arundel County and work in DC, this does not leave me with a warm, fuzzy feeling!

If in fact they did recover an expended shell in the vicinity of the school, a half way decent forensic lab should be able to at least get the firing pin indentation marks from it. They might even be able to raise some finger prints. The firing pin indentation signature leads one then to speculate on the feds starting to "print" each and every firearm before it leaves the factory or dealer. Is that good or bad?

hey...you finished 100% of a posting! brag to your friends & neighbors! LOL
I would suggest a support group for people like us....but I guess we would never really finish organizing it....which also goes along with my lack of organizational skills.

I like how you think, although I think there will be a long line of Maryland citizens, patiently waiting their turn to beat the vermin to death!

I agree it's odd that they aren't giving the public ANY idea what to look for. Are they being overly PC or do they really, have six deaths and two critically injured, have absolutely NO clues? It seems odd that no one has seen anything.

Chief Executive IS still on a trip, with no mention of coming home, and as of yesterday, Maryland residents were complaining the Gov hadn't put in an appearance either. What is wrong with these people? It makes me realize that if 9/11 had to happen, thank goodness Rudy and President Bush were at the helm, because their demeanor and constant reassuring presence really helped.

"The firing pin indentation signature leads one then to speculate on the feds starting to "print" each and every firearm before it leaves the factory or dealer. Is that good or bad? This topic was raised on Greta Van Susterens's program last night. That each fiearm purchase should be run threw the LE who fires 3 rounds and keeps the shells on record. I totally disagree with even HINTING at this procedure. The assumption is all gun owners are "Potential Criminals of America". There were 80 million (?) gun owners yesterday who didn't shoot anybody.
