Great post, thank you. Can we add "President Bush Outlines Iraqi Threat" to the title?

In our house we have discussed at length the bias problem with the mainstream media, i.e., tonight's decision by the networks not to air the President's speech. A long time ago, we cancelled our local newspaper because of bias. I would like to ask Freepers throughout the country if they continue to watch the network news or purchase the major leftist newspapers like NYT, Wash Post, Chicago Times, etc. If so, then you are just perpetuating the problem. The only thing that media bosses understand is readership and dollars. The only way to get them to consider changing their ways is to stop watching them or subscribing to them. Look at the crisis CNN is in because of Fox News. The thousands of readers of this forum could make a significant dent in the leftist media pockets by simply cancelling subscriptions and tuning in to another channel.

If military action is necessary, the United States and our allies will help the Iraqi people rebuild their economy, and create the institutions of liberty in a unified Iraq at peace with its neighbors. How?

The speech was aimed at wavering Democrats and Independents. It was very good for this audience. Those who don't unite behind this effort either have a very skewed view of the risks we face, are just partisans whose quest for power is more important to them than the security of America, or are America haters. There are significant numbers in each of these groups. But we can hope that the vast majority of our people are united behind the President on this matter.

I dont know who is in charge of it...
But the President has some really good handlers when it comes to setting up his speeches and wardrobe.
I have seen countless backgrounds produced for his speeches and in this speech he had another one. They matched it perfectly to his suit and the podium colors.
Alot of folks dont notice that sort of thing but I do. Kudos to whomever is doing it.

Clinton: "We must do everything in our power to stop Saddam Hussain. It's not for my legacy. It's for the children."
Democrats: "Hooray! We're with you 100%. You are a God!"
Clinton: "I spent my whole 8 years as president hunting down Bin Ladin. Honest."
Democrats:"Hooray. Of course you did. We all believe you and trust you with our lives."
Clinton: "I did not have sex with that woman, Ms. Lewinski."
Democrats: "Hooray. We believe you. You are a God, and so trustworthy, too."
Bush: "We must do everything in our power to stop Suddam Hussain."
Democrats: "We don't believe you. We need more proof."

"We Refuse to Live in Fear" Senators Daschle, Boxer, Feinstein do you hear that? I refuse to live in fear. My family refuses to live in fear.
President Bush delivered a concise summation in an appropriately solemn and measured tone. His strength of character is our nation's moral authority. His bold leadership is our steadfast resolve to rip apart Saddam's fortress of homocidal terrorism. Our choice is clear. Saddam can no "longer deny, deceive, delay."

"I'm not willing to stake one American life on trusting Saddam Hussein. "Well that pretty much sums it up for me. Thanks for posting this as I did not get to see it on television.

I again notice Bush saying "MAY God bless America" instead of "God bless America." This is almost an ending prayer beseeching the almighty to protect us...instead of a less powerful "telling" God to bless us. Talk about humility!

Just read somewhere that Saddam's inner circle is defecating!! Oops.. that's defecting, never mind....
