Maybe MD will read this thread, you think? I find it hard to believe that they aren't seriously in the air. Suffice it to say, they may have caught the guy(s) by now.

MD needs to get into the 21st century like California has been re: air cover for at least the past twenty years.

I believe the police helicopters are still grounded due to a series of accidents not too long ago. They could be back up in the air, but I don't recall hearing about it.
