True (not all ME attackk credited). Senators are just now asking FBI to look into OKC bombing as ME related based on others doing extensive research on it and gathering evidence. Of course, 4 of the past 6 years were during Clinton's reign. He never would have looked into it.

I believe you will find that Moose was, as another FReeper said, "joined at the hip with Mayor Vera Katz"(Left Wing, Wild-eyed Liberal). Moose was the CoP in Portland who would not allow the FBI to interview local muslims after 9/11. Moose, I believe, is an embaressment to the Mont Co police. I know I wince and have to switch to another channel when I hear him try to communicate on TV press conferences.

Another poster made a post stating that Moose moved to MD in 1999.

Doing a google search on Muslims in Maryland, the state has a large Muslim population, including Muslim Students Association at Univ Maryland at College Point, which is not too far from the cluster of shootings

I keep seeing a cloverleaf on this highway in one camera angle FOX is using....

In the Al-Qeada handbook they talk of using a highway as a quick getaway..... and in a terror camp a mock up of a cloverleaf on a major highway was found. Get this there are NO highways in Afghanistan with cloverleafs.

This guy is well trained.....and is doing dry runs on his targets before he does them IMHO..

I was wondering that myself. The BATF spokesman from the Baltimore field office, Mike B...., on TV was just asked if they recovered and brass and he said he would not comment on what was recovered from the shooting sites, just that they have recovered some good evidence.

I should have taken more time in writing that post so I don't have to write this second post in explaining. We don't have to worry about terrorism on a personal basis as much as we have to worry about average street crime.
The person should buy a gun, learn to use it and realize that they aren't going to be a victim of terrorism as much as they can from being a crime victim.
I'm not worried that the Maryland killer is suddenly going to show up in Dallas as much as I am aware that I have to watch out as I go the ATM or come home at night.

Well, I still live in Bowie, about 1 mile from the school in question that my kids went to years ago.

I'm an overthinker and my first guess was that a gun went off in the kid's pocket. My second guess is that he had been saying the right things to the wrong people.

The location where he was shot is screened from the main highway (MD Rt.197) by a lot of trees and screened from the high ground across 197 by the same trees. The intersecting road (Kenhill Drive) is too busy to set up a 200 yard shot and the park to the north of the school has only one way out on to 197 that is always busy.

The local radio stations are constantly covering what Montgomery Co. Schools are and will be doing. The shooting took place in Prince Georges Co. ????

Losts of police and school employee overtime coming up.

The coverage reminds me of the Weather Channel coverage of non-hurricanes.

In a later post, I agreed Moose was gone by 9/11. However, Vera baby directed the Portland PD NOT to help the FBI as I understand it.(unfair profiling?...Right!)

Pretty much there are two basic types of 223 projectiles: Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) & Soft Point (SP) There are many variations of the SP from exposed lead tips to ballistic tips which are plastic tipped down to Hollow Points (HP) which have only a hollow core for about 1/8th inch.

The objective of the SP is to transfere as much energy of the projectile to the target to cause as much tissue damage as possible. This effect is sometimes called the hydra-shock effect.

For when soft points and hollow points expand, the damage is from the shock of suddenly opening a fluid space which can be a ripping effect. Other damage can be from secondary projectiles from the original that fly off as the bullet expands violently until energy is lost and all motion ceases.

There isn't any "buzz saw" effect as seen on TV. Most 223 rifles will have a twist rate of 12:1 up to 14:1. These numbers mean that the projectile will rotate once every 12 and 14 inches of forward motion respectively. No matter the velocity, the twist rate remains the same. If you have a target mass of eight inches thick and the projectile passes through, then it did not have a full rotation upon passing through. If the projectile did not pass through, it still did not have a full ratation since all energy stopped once the forward motion stopped.

When one uses a FMJ, much less energy is passed to the target due to its inability to transfere energy to the target. FMJ's can be known for the tumbling effect, but usually when the projectile has to travel a great distance and the bullet weight and length is too great for the twist rate. The tumbling happens before target impact and "key holes" the target. Accuracy for a tumbling projectile is crap.
