Chief Moose started to lose it towards the end of the press conference. Started talking about parents assuring their children that they are safe and that we will not be afraid, voice cracking.

I'm glad he finally showed some emotion. From what I heard at the press conference, he was especially angry because a child was shot.

Chief Moose said the shooter stepped over the line by shooting a child and that now it's personal. What was that about? Have they received communications from the shooter? Did they get a terror note or a ransom note or do they know something more about this than they're telling us? Remember, they locked down the schools on Thursday.

If true, then unless the kid got shot with an elephant gun, I think we can rule out the existence of the "coffee-cup sized wound."

From the map I saw online, I believe that's US 50, which runs west into DC, and east through Annapolis and to the Bay Bridge (as US 50/301).

The shooting today is about 15 to 20 miles away from the cluster in Montgomery County. The school is off a major north-south route (Rte. 301)and close to Route 50, a major east-west highway. The Bowie exits off Rte. 50 are a few miles east from the Capital Beltway.

Basically, the shooter has a quick getaway and could drive away from the scene in any direction.

I also saw the speaker. You heard him correctly because I also heard it and had the same thoughts you did. They have to know these are connected.... if not same shooter or gun, the group is connected.

Boy, the regular mail carrier at our office takes of a week in mid-November to go deer hunting along with a bunch of his post office buddies. If he asked us about our guns, it'd only be for comparison purposes.

the worst aspect of this string of cowardly atrocities is that they may be merely Act 2, Scene 1 of the play that opened last september.

To defend yourself. The person was concerned about terrorist attacks and they should be more concerned about average street crime.
While people are terrified about what is happening clear across their country, they should be more concerned about crime in their own neighborhood.

If this is a terrorist planned attack it is likely that areas in NY City and Florida might be on the list for future atacks.

I think we can expect them everywhere there are a lot of escape routes. I doubt they'll be limited just to a few cities.

And if anyone hasn't read one of the New al-Qaida tape shows another side of terror threads, now is the time to do it. (Just plug the title into the search feature on FR) It looks like we are entering a new era.

These sobs are going to find out how tough Americans can be.
