Here is a press release for our "Dump DAVIS!" FReep that I just sent out via e-mail, and soon by FAX.
Please help us get the word out about this CRITICAL event in the race for Governor of California!
for immediate release
Its ALIVE! Activists bring L.A. Times cartoon to life
"eGray Hooker" to appear at Simon/Davis Debate on Monday
When Los Angeles Times political cartoonist Michael Ramirez comes to work tomorrow, he is in for a BIG surprise. A six foot tall, two hundred twenty pound surprise, to be exact, wearing a bright red turkey-feather boa.
Little did he suspect that his cartoon of California governor Gray Davis as a prostitute published earlier this year would be the inspiration for a character known as the eGray Hooker, which has been hounding the governor with an intensity unequalled by the even Debate Chicken from the Simon team.
From Beverly Hills to Hollywood, and Long Beach to Century City, a man dressed as a male prostitute and wearing a Gray Davis mask has been appearing wherever Davis does, most recently at a Get out the Vote rally with Hillary Clinton at the Century Plaza Hotel over the weekend.
And now, in an extraordinary case of Life imitating Art, conservative activists will be bringing their creation home to meet its Maker. Today, when the L. A. Times sponsors the first debate between Davis and his Republican challenger Bill Simon, Mike Ramirez will finally get to meet the eGray Hooker, who will be engaged in street theater protests outside the Times building where the debate will take place today at noon.
This kind of street theater exemplifies the kind of non-traditional campaign that Simon has been running, shunning the considerable expense of television ads for the much more cost-effective but far less visible world of talk radio and Internet. The man who plays the eGray Hooker says that he does NOT work for the Simon campaign, nor does he have their consent to do what he does, and was recently admonished by Simon to Keep it clean.
He says that he was also inspired by www.eGray.org, a parody of the auction site eBay.

Why not invite Camejo to join the eGray hooker in protest?
Seems only fair to me!
(After all, ironically enough, he is our friend :-) ).
I just hope this debate will happen, since I'm planning to view it during my lunch hour at work!

Could you identify Bin Skate-in? I can't figure out who he is.
Thanks.
To: RonDog
The governor had an agreement with the Times that Camejo would not be any part of the debate.
"I said (to the Times) that we had talked about this before and that we were not interested in being involved in a circus atmosphere," Salazar said.
Secret agreements? In an Open Government? Shocking, I tell ya!!

First of all, I can't believe what I read. Davis is using any excuse he can, no matter how pathetic, to get out of this debate. My cold has gotten worse, so I'm staying home from school today (one of the kids is home sick too), but I did submit a question for Bill Simon for the debate:
To Bill Simon:
Gov Davis recently vetoed AB 2240 (the California Paternity Justice Act). This bill would have helped thousand of California men who were wrongly assigned paternity in default judgments, and who have been compelled by the state to pay years of child support for children whom DNA tests have shown are not theirs. As governor of California, would you encourage this bill to be resubmitted to your office and signed into law, thereby releasing thousands of men and their families from a form of slavery?
If anyone reading this post has "connections" to Bill Simon, please pass this on to him. The Fathers Rights crowd is getting increasingly militant, and this needs to be spoken about in public. IMO this could bring thousands of people to our side. This will show in concrete terms that the average person can understand, Gray Davis' character. If anyone does pass this on, please excuse my ignorance about how to get bills to the governor to be signed. Maybe there needs to be a completely new bill, even so this is a hot issue!!!! Feel free to edit this...

Correction: I just got a confirmation from Simon headquarters. KTLA Channel 5 is the only LA area televsion station carrying the debate live. No local radio station is carrying the debate and only a SF FM station is carrying the debate. So much for the debate...
