Great read for W fans.
To: Pokey78
In many ways he is a product of the 1960s, in the sense that he acquired an enduring hostility to the attitudes prevalent at the time.THAT is wonderful news!

Thanks, great read.

He means what he says. This, above all else, is the true measure of the man.
How, so simple a character trait, can be so powerful is a wonder to behold.

You're on a roll, Pokey. This is the second great post I recall offhand from you in the last day.
Thanks!

I met Mr Bush at a baseball game many years ago and this discription is the man I saw. A great man? I don't know....a good man...hell yes! The perfect fit for our time? yeah baby!

Very nice article. Too bad the Brits voted for Blair.
He and his great friend and strategist Karl Rove refined their political philosophy from a list of the symptoms of the Sixties that they saw as still affecting America: elitism, cynicism, anti-Americanism, self-absorption and psychobabble. Mr Bush believes that America has been run for too long by an out-of-touch elite of which he definitely does not feel a part.
Yes, indeedy! Hallelluja!

Excellent post. I feel more confident about the future because of it. Having been burned so many times in the past, It is easy to remain skeptical.

Pokey, What a great article. I'm crying my eyes out like I do with each article I read about this man. He just keeps getting better and better. It is so good to read about him from someone who really knows him. Can't thank you enough. Putting this in my favorits list.

Thanks for another "great read" ping.
He is not an intellectual. He uses strange language. He knows nothing of the rest of the world. He doesn't look as if he can think straight....his critics cling doggedly to their initial preconceptions.
I don't understand this. I believe I'm a fair minded person. If I have preconcieved notions about someone, and they consistantly behave in a manner that doesn't at all fit that notion, then maybe it's time to give that person another look.
There are VERY FEW people willing to say, "hey, I was wrong about this man, or this woman". I think those who practice the politics of personal destruction, don't care to change their minds - or any one elses mind. It fits their agenda.
