That 0.01 next to SALON means that is worth a penny a share. That is soooooooo deserved.
Yet, FREE REPUBLIC remains a privately held stock worth far more in the real arena-- THE ARENA OF IDEAS. (and FR would be more valuable in the financial arena too, we won't let FR fail, it is too important to our country's future. We are more committed than the Leftists)

I saw that on Drudge, along with the latest stillborn ratings from landPhil Donahue. Everywhere you turn, the left is crashing and burning.

Too bad I can't use the <marquee> tags (or the JavaScript equivalent) here; otherwise, that would be scrolling like Times Square.

Hint: Buying shares at a penny is not necessarily a good deal. It might be fun to buy a share though, and demand physical delivery.

Hmmmm....why isn't that savior of the left, BARDra Streisand, not opening up her deep pockets and bailing them out?

How much for a BILLLLLLLLION shares??
To: Dog Gone
Ohhh... then how about a MILLLLLLion shares?

I've got $18.35 in spare change. Is that enough to buy the whole shooting match?
To: RobFromGa
The best day this stock had was a few days after it's ipo (6/99) when it closed at $14.25. It's been straight downhill ever since.

Whats say we all pitch in and buy it. Then start doing conservative stories. And watch it grow. That would surely bug the libs.

Yet another bad hair day for Salon.
Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey, goodbye!
To: RobFromGa
A share of Salon and a $10 will buy you a cup of coffee!
To: RobFromGa
A penny for a share of Salon stock and a penny for Barbara Streisand's thoughts. The only question is, who will give the most change back?

I think a much better and cheaper idea is to simply wait for Salon.com to die, and then buy their URL at auction. Take up a collection beforehand, whatever is leftover goes into the fundraising kitty. Freepers could easily raise 10 or 20 thousand towards such a goal without trying too hard.
Then, once we obtain ownership of the URL, we re-direct all accesses here to Free Republic. Maybe put a little welcome page for people coming in from that address. That THAT would be sweet.
To rub even more salt in the wound, make the re-direct page look like the Salon.com homepage (they won't be around to complain) and put up a bunch of stories that start off looking like leftist tripe but that actually lead into serious, conservative articles. We could even have parody cartoons, like "This Liberal Planet" and "Joe the Prancing Insect", but all of these pages would also have click-throughs to Free Republic.
Yes, I'm cruel. I'd also be glad to pitch in with an article or two.

Gee, wouldn't it be funny to buy up enough shares to gain control of Salon!? :-) Fire all the staff and turn it into part of the right wing conspiracy.
