When did the .223 become a "high power" cartridge? I think these people would wet themselves if the saw some of the things Weatherby cranks out.

Shell on ground...
bullet in body!

That means the VA shooting was the real deal, not a copycat . . . and I think, with the D.C. guy now confirmed, puts us at 8 dead . . . when do we get a description of the suspects?

police said a 223 or its cousins(221 222) was used in the shootings in MD too........whats this talk of another shooting at a DC store today(not VA) ?
To: newsperson999
I sure hope the liberal left doesn't use this incident to argue in favor of gun registration... that would be bad news for our 2nd amendment...

Yeah - I'm thinking a spent casing would be a major find. Firing pin imprint, etc.

How is a rifle "High Powered"? I could see a round being a high powered, but a rifle? They said it was a .223 shot from a high powered rifle, does the rifle plug in or something?

The reporters don't have a clue . . . they call a box truck an SUV . . .

looks like there's alot of different manufacturers.

the bullet went through the body, no word if they found it yet......8 dead?..the woman was not killed in VA today..also there were only 6 other shootings..
To: bonesmccoy
Well, the gun laws couldn't get any more draconian than they are in DC. What's it like in VA and MD?
(Not that it matters; gun control is a dead issue for the next generation except in the last diehard liberal bastions like NY and CA. The 2000 election saw to that.)

Have you ever seen the Weatherby add which is a take off on the Master padlock adds which show a high powered rifle bullet shooting right through the padlock yet it stil remains locked?
In the Weatherby add they go through the same scenario except when the Weatherby magnum hits the padlock it simply explodes. Nothing left at all. I guess it no longer was locked.
