Now, that's not to say that the press wouldn't try to "demonize" conservatives who report that the emperor has no clothes. But h*ll, they will demonize conservatives just for breathing, so who cares?
The point is that you have to mobilize opposition to this small number of radical extremists who wield influence in the Democrat party and, by extension, in American political life far beyond their numbers.
It would not take a huge majority of the electorate to do that, either. FR is partial proof of concept.
Look at McDermott. It is time to begin pointing out relentlessly and incessantly the extremism of that man's views. He exemplifies what I'm talking about.
Now, you can make a point about "racism" if you go after their strategy of illegal enfranchisement since the people who are the pawns in that game are "of color," but it wouldn't be that hard to get a large minority of the LEGITIMATE electorate to realize that it isn't race, but SOCIETY/CULTURE/PHILOSOPHY that is at issue here.
For example, much is made of the "racism" and attendant "racial profiling" of potential terrorists based (it is alleged) on the ethnicity of the targets of such profiling.
But in reality it is coincidental that these people were Arabs. The cogent point is that they belong to a radical, extremist, anti-liberty, anti-American faction of Islam, which has its most fertile ground in the Middle East.
Intelligent people know this, and attempts by the effete liberal snobs to air their own "white guilt" laundry by attacking "racial profiling" gets play ONLY because those effete liberal snobs have access to the microphone out of proportion to their numbers.
A listen to local and national talk radio, however, reveals that this attempt at turning the discussion away from reality isn't working, and won't work.
In short, it's time for conservative Republican candidates to stop being afraid, and start speaking out. There are many that do, but there are too many that don't.
It is easier for a political party to paint negative pictures. Negative propaganda can be done to inflame rhetoric and racially charge discussion. The problem is that it takes an intellectual person to comprehend the GOP message, and alot of the RATS aren't that intellectual (witness Streisand's remarks).
You are correct that the issue is not race, but in the arrests today; the race of the suspects is obvious...they're tied to black muslim radicals.
In various ethnic parts of America, these radicals have been attempting to sway the younger people. The usual war cry is "let's get them". When you research it, the "them" is the "white establishment" or "squares" or "those guys".
If the GOP candidates actually enunciate these views, then they look bad to the ill-informed swing voters. So, I would suggest that the informed simply need to go to other places on the internet and begin a counter operation to theirs.
Perhaps we can use Freepmail to identify, target, and then freep various web discussion board sites.

While watching those exclusive CNN tapes terror tapes, I remember taking note that there were Chinese individuals in one of the clips. It was the clip that showed several terrorists entering what appeared to be some sort of safehouse in Afghanistan.
A previous poster had the story where one of the father of one of the bad guys, Patrice Lumumba Ford, said his sone was a graduate of a Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore) international program.
Putting together the fact he studied in China, also that he was fluent in Mandarin, BINGO....I have what seems to be the connection.

This is not some ghetto street punk.
In most of these cases the feds have been able to make terror connections to al qaeda. What is unsettling to me is not knowing how many are out there with clean backgrounds that have been or will be picked up and released because there is no direct linkage to al qaeda. In retrospect, I'm convinced that the Florida flight school kid was a brainwashed recruit.
