They might mean the border between the United States of America and The Peoples Republic of Washington DC.

It was in DC, near the Maryland border. They are waiting for "forensic evidence" to see if it's related. They apparently arrested someone last night in that area, but are now saying that he/she isn't the shooter, but is being held on other charges.

I got the impression there is something dissimilar about last night's shooting (compared to the MD shootings) that is making them hesitate, although that wasn't stated at the last press conference.

It looks like this link has been pulled by WP. They probably jumped the gun (pardon the pun).

The sixth murder was on upper Georgia Ave. in D.C. The second shooting (and first killing) on Wednesday (at the Shoppers Food Warehouse in Glenmont/Wheaton) happened just off Georgia Ave. The locations of the shootings on both Wednesday evening and Thursday morning were such that the shooters appeared both days to be headed towards the part of D.C. where last night's shooting occurred.

Initially Brokejaw tried to insinuate this was a militia type murder because the victims were all minorites. They quickly had to back down when it became clear that some of the victims were white.........

QUICK TO CONDEMN.....NEVER APOLOGYZE

And the first shooting (no injuries) was at Michaels at 5:20 p.m. on Wednesday, at 13850 Georgia Ave., Aspen Hill. If this murder fits the pattern, the murderer or murderers are out still out there on their killing spree.

I watched a bit of Kyra Phillips on CNN over the lunch hour. As she held a .223 bullet in her manicured hand, she smiled tensely at the former DC SWAT team member and said (and you can't make this up), "This is a really accurate bullet, isn't it?"

It had me on the floor in hysterics. Now I'm not a hunter, but my Daddy was & he did teach me how to shoot, and I don't ever remember him telling me that bullets had any degree of accuracy all by themselves.

The ATF weenie in the WashCompost picture was claiming that it was most likely a scoped, bolt action, 30-06.

I'm thankful that I moved in 2001 away from Silver Spring. All of those shootings occurred in places I've been or streets I've walked along going to work or shop. If the one that happened last night on Georgia is connected(does it matter to those who are dead or injured?) then that's just down the street from my Grandma's house and up the street(Silver Spring) is the apartment building where I lived.

Cripes I am so glad my parents just moved from the cess pool that is PG Country out to Emmittsburg. It's bad enough having my sister live in Mont County near all the shootings but I also have an uncle in Langley Park and a good friend in Hyattsville. I am physically ill.

copycat???

I've been wondering about the timing of this with the release of information that al Quaeda was planning this kind of thing. Could someone be pre-emptively copying al Quaeda? Whoever it is, is nuts, so the mind boggles trying to figure out which species of nut.

Give the poor twit a break. The .223 was specifically designed for accuracy. I believe it was intended as a deer hunting mod of the .220 Swift. I've been out of this loop for several decades, but that's how I remember it.
