Fox news just reported, Ashcroft is asking NJ officials to explain why they are not following federal election laws in regards to military ballots in the switch and bait ruling.
This might get interesting
Bravo!
Thanks to Clinton/Gore! Good thing that stink got out, it turned the tide of the whole election mess!
Ashcroft's involvement will do nothing more than motivate the dem voters....this year's Gingrich. He is an easily 'villainized' person.
So far as
Getting old Rooster.
Too old and too fat to be jumping horses anyhow.
That's why Republicans need to watch those NJ military ballots more than anything. They have a long way to go, and time is short. Will they make the deadline back? If not, will they toss them?
EVERY military ballot must be accounted for.
If they screw up, bring the Florida military mess back to the forefront. Make it an issue.
LOL, man the wagon with the Gating Gun.
After the Democrat spin machine slowed down, and people realized what Clinton was, and how badly his administration did, they came around to understand the SCOTUS ruling. Only a few dependant die hards still hold it against Bush.
Polls show people hold Clinton accountable for 9/11, and also the economy with the war, even though Democrats are fighting like hell to change their minds. I think America has been shocked into reality quite a bit. I really think they would accept a SCOTUS ruling. Democrats have gotten a bad name lately.
The important thing is that the overseas military people receive their absentee ballots, not whether Torricelli or Lautenberg's name is on the ballot, since they will be voting for Forrester anyway. Or should be.
They'd accuse him of using the war and it's military personel for political reasons.
He should stand back, and let others take over. He has to keep his nose clean, as to not give any fodder to the Democrats what so ever. Let others do the "dirty work" on his behalf. It's safer. That way they can't pin it on him.
He needs to stick to NJ and it's voters issues. Hold the line. No one can argue with him that way. He keeps his slate clean.
Democrats need division. That way they can attack full force. BUT, no one can hold anything against a rightous man. They have no target.

This is why, to me -- and aside from the constitutional questions/violations -- this whole incident will sadly pass on, and the dims will most likely win. The constitutional -- e.g. laws need to be obeyed -- question is far too esoteric for the sheeple to grasp. And in defending the issue, the 'pubs would be locked into this kind of debate/debacle were they to argue this point. In the end, the 'pubs will be arguing whether or not the dims should be allowed to vote for Toricelli or no dimo alternative. The sheeple will see this point quite readily -- the specificities and benefits of election law being beyond the grasp of most.
And of course the dims understand this only too well and have proceeded accordingly. One more stone knocked from the foundation of our cherished democratic Republic.
Then the USSC will overturn entire NJSC ruling and Torch remains on ballot. Another B-Slap for another renegade state supreme court. Will these hacks never learn?
I haven't finished reading the thread yet, but let me stop here and say this:
The big difference between now and then in terms of rallying the base is that in Florida the votes had already been cast and counted, twice. The Democrats rallied their base by claiming that blacks were disenfranchised and the elderly were confused. That is not the situation now.
Now, no votes have been cast except for the few absentee ballots that are trickling in. The Democrat base cannot rally yet as they haven't cast their votes yet. Nobody feels disenfranchised at the moment except the DNC. People are rallying, but they are rallying around the rule of law this time.
Since this is all happening before the votes are cast, people are seeing the manipulations out in the open before the fact, and they are disgusted. I don't think traditional Democrat rally cries will work this time, especially given the contradictory arguments between the ballots in NJ and the ballots in HI.
