REV. JERRY FALWELL CALLS THE PROPHET MOHAMMED 'A TERRORIST'

The Rev. Jerry Falwell will call Islam’s founder and most sacred figure, Mohammed, "a terrorist" on 60 MINUTES this Sunday night, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

“I think Mohammed was a terrorist. I read enough…by both Muslims and non-Muslims, [to decide] that he was a violent man, a man of war,” Falwell tells CBS. “In my opinion…Jesus set the example for love, as did Moses, and I think Mohammed set an opposite example.”

Falwell hits total controversy while affirming the Christian Right’s steadfast support for the state of Israel against its Islamic enemies.

The interview with CBS reporter Bob Simon, in which Falwell hints that the Christian Right influences U.S. government policy toward Israel, has been set for broadcast, network sources say.

MORE

Falwell sent a personal protest to President Bush, and the White House received 100,000 e-mail protests from Christians when Bush urged Israel to remove its forces from Palestinian towns earlier this year. Falwell believes Bush is well aware of the Christian constituency. “There are 70 million of us…[and] there’s nothing that would bring the wrath of the Christian public in this country down on this government like abandoning or opposing Israel on a critical matter,” Falwell tells Simon.

Falwell and conservative Christians support the Israelis and condemn their enemies because they believe the triumph of Israel is God’s will. The Jews’ return to their ancient homeland – and sole ownership of the territories Arabs and Israelis both lay claim to -- is a precondition for the second coming of Christ, according to the Fundamentalist Evangelical Christians’ interpretation of the Bible. The Biblical scenario is not a savory one for many Jews, however. “God save us from these people,” says Israeli political analyst Yossi Alpher. “When you see what these people are encouraging Israel and the U.S. to do…ignore the Palestinians, kick them out…they are leading us into a scenario of out-and-out disaster,” he tells Simon.

But disaster is part of the scenario. Many Fundamentalist Evangelicals believe there will be catastrophic events on earth, some occurring already, including the turmoil in the Middle East, culminating in the Battle of Armageddon in which Christ will triumph and begin ruling the earth. At this point, they believe, non-believers will be destroyed, good Christians saved and any remaining Jews converted to Christianity.

Says Ed McAteer, a founder of the Moral Majority and known as the godfather of the Christian Right, “I believe that we are seeing prophecy unfold so rapidly and dramatically and wonderfully, and, without exaggeration, [it] makes me breathless.”

on the contrary, I have to disagree ... there are too many "Christian" leaders trying to give "respect" to Mohammed ... he is a liar, according to the very Words of Jesus you quoted, for the koran specifically denies the Deity of Christ, His Vicarious Sacrifice, the Holy Trinity of God, the Gospel, His Eternal Reign, etc etc etc ... and does so, starting approximately 600 years AFTER the Advent of Christ ...

one can receive the Message because of the Love, or one can receive the Message because of the Fear ... either way, the goal is the same ... if someone doesn't receive the Message, it's not because there's a problem with the Message, it's because they didn't want to hear in the first place ... calling Mohammed what he was and what many of his followers do is not wrong ... it is Truth ... now, many people have been misled ... I never doubt the sincerity, I always give that the benefit of the doubt ... but whitewashing Mohammed to the Islamics, in fact, does them a disservice ... for they are following a False Prophet ...

Matthew 11 NASB
15 "He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
16 "But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the market places, who call out to the other children,
17 and say,
'We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn.'

Who is this main warrior figure or warrior founder of Shinto?

There isn't. That's why I called it "the closest religious thing."

OK Thanks. I thought by "closest thing" to Islam you meant the warrior ethos in Shinto.

Shinto almost died out as a viable religion but in the seventeenth century it was revitalized by tough-minded military leaders. A combination of Shinto and Confucianism was used to develop the warrior code of Bushido.

Jesus upset the money-changers' tables. Some would consider that a terrorist activity.

1 John 2:18
Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. (Whole Chapter: 1 John 2 In context: 1 John 2:17-19)

1 John 2:22
Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. (Whole Chapter: 1 John 2 In context: 1 John 2:21-23)

1 John 4:3
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. (Whole Chapter: 1 John 4 In context: 1 John 4:2-4)

2 John 1:7
For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. (Whole Chapter: 2 John 1 In context: 2 John 1:6-8)

How can we ignore the book of Revelation, most of it has already taken place. John said in AD 68, when he wrote it that what he wrote was "soon to take place."

Call me a tin foil nut, but I find the timing of this interview suspect. Elections less than a month away, I think 60 minutes is attempting to stir up controversy. Connect the dots between the wascally religious right and the Republicans. Think about that at the ballot box, yadda, yadda, yadda.

This is EXACTLY what "60 Minutes" is trying to do. And Falwell is too stupid to see it.

So let me get this straight. He should only say bad things about Islam and the "prophet of peace" in non-election years? Got anymore freedom-loving ideas?

Yes, there are Christian Arabs. I agree that they will be and are invaluable in this war, evn though I hate to say it but its was Christian Arabs who initiated many of the most violent left wing groups today including the Baath party and other Marxist oriented organizations. However, those arabs and non arabs who are muslims cannot be counted on to aid the US. Their first allegiance is to mohamed and the sharia. It is not true that they are as diverse as Christians. Islam is not just a religion; it is a lifestyle = a way of living that seeks to dominate those who are non Muslims.

Now, if you are talking about divide and conquer for example, helping the Kurdish Muslims to defeat their Muslim aggressors, I have no doubt that that can only help. But the caution here is that in the final analysis, Muslims will always put their ideology first.

Since Falwell made a fool of himself with his obnoxious and hateful claim that we brought 9/11 upon ourselves by allowing behaviour that caused God to lift His "protective veil" over America, he has been worthy of no attention...

Thanks.

Atrocities like this is what Falwell's thinking about. Look real dangerous and a threat to muslims, don't they

Children slaughtered at the temple in Gujarat, India.
