Thats something else. The public schools are a frantic with this code blue, lock down BS. It sounds like a state prison they are talking about. Why can't the just say the schools are closed.....

I can tell that the police chief is trying really hard to appear intelligent and composed and God bless him for that, but as I hear him speak, I keep thinking that affirmative action had something to do with his being in that position, or perhaps it was just the 'Peter Principle'. He is in over his head.

Beyond that, it would be somewhat helpful to the public if they would describe the nature of some of the shots that the supposed 'skilled shooter' was taking ... like, distances (if known) from shooter to target, any commonality with regard to certain types of streets (neighboorhood drives vs. main highways, etc.), was the vehicle moving or stopped at the tme of the shot, was the shot from the vehicle or did the shooter step outside the vehicle, etc., etc. If they know these things, these are details that would help the average person calculate their potential risks under certain circumstances.

Also, I have a dream ... that just once, a LEO would say that armed citizens might have a chance to bag this guy if he shows up again and trys to hit a CCW holder ... but I suppose that would take some of the challenge out of it for the LEOs.

What if it isn't a truck. I heard a report on Fox this morning that said one witness who was standing next to a man shot at a gas station, said she thought she saw a man flee on foot. Since all the shootings happened within a mile of each other, it could have easily been a shooter on foot - though it definitely would make it harder for him to hide between shootings.

What's funny is the the local police have not gave any type of description of the the vehicle. All the shootings have been in day light, there had to be witnesses to at least some of these shootings. Where is the description of the vehicle, or photos of look alike vehicles/trucks for the public to be aware of?

Because a lock-down means the kids can't leave, even if parents come to get them. If you say the school is closed, the parents think it's time to go get their kids to take them home.
