The Democrats should be made to publicly explain why Torricelli should be removed from the ballot but Mink should stay on.

Look, if Forrester can't beat this walking corpse Lautenberg then he deserves to lose anyway.

We can still win this.

NJ is a lib state, but Forrester is moderate enough to appeal to many of their voters. Plus, I have to think a lot of the soccer mom types are going to see this for what it is -- a dirty trick.

Doug can do this.

"We need the ruling posted ...I need to see if they touched on the absentee ballots/military ballots..."

There is a link to the opinion on this or the locked thread--about 50-70 posts into it. I'll try to find it and flag you.

In any event, the order has a sentence about the military/absentee, the order being that "[they]be given precedence" or somesuch to ensure they get to vote. *sigh*

Yeah, but how many milligans do they get? They must all play by BC's (Bill Clinton's) rules not the PGA's.

This really does strike at the heart of everything the Founding Fathers stood for. The rule of law. Equal justice for all. If SCOTUS lets this ruling stand, then everything people have fought and died for for the last two hundered years will have been declared meaningless. This is about more than who wins the damn Senate seat now. This is about whether or not the Constituion still means something.

Some have criticized the GOP lawyers. It would not have mattered if they had been represented by Daniel Webster, Abe Lincoln and Clarence Darrow having a day with Perry Mason's luck; the result would have been the same. Two of the seven had been contributors to Torricelli's campaign; do you expect fairness from THEM? This "court" is the same one that legislates what housing can be built where in the state and requires billions to be spent on new schools in districts that don't have the money to pay for it. I'm not suprised in the slightest.

/1/ "The law is for the little people."

/2/ The Democrats are for the children, the Republicans want to starve old people, so it is justified.

"I see nothing in the NJ court's opinion explaining away the potential violation of federal law with respect to the military ballots (as well as in changing the rules in midstream, as held to violate equal protection by the 11th Circuit in Roe v. Alabama). This opinion is just asking to be slapped down by a federal court. "

That is great..and leaves hope. It would sure look bad on the SCOTUS if they failed to take this on.

So what the heck am I going to do, I got my absentee ballot already????

Hahaha, that will be the basis for the NEXT Rat court challenge if Lautenberg narrowly loses... they will produce some angry old geezers who mailed in the wrong absentee ballot! Bwahaha... don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Anyone know what his chances are of beating Lautenberg?

I seriously question how much longer our country will have peaceful transitions of power.

Backroom deals to turn party affiliation for sitting elected congressmen.

Phone banked, rent-a-mobs protesting in the streets.

Trashing of the White House.

Lies and damned lies about administrations during scampaigns (worst economy in 50 years becomes it's not as bad as we thought, once elected)

The out of office administration continues worldwide politicking and trashing the sitting administration's foreign policy.

The anti-capitalists have been building up their riot brigades (who have been apprehended bringing nail bombs to the "party").

We are in for South American style unrest if the devisive democraps don't tone down their anti-American rhetoric.

With this decision, it has now been established that a poor performing candidate can be replaced regardless of state filing deadlines. Democratic party my ass.

$$ is sent to the GOP with such frequency we've written them into our budget. Last week I wrote and called Zell Miller and urged him to jump. Today I called the NJSC, urged others to do so, called neighbors who in turn called, nearly got kicked out of a restaurant by encouraging patrons to call, had family call, etc. It used to be that all we had to do was pay attention to the issues and VOTE. But, now, that not only isn't enough - it DOESN'T COUNT.

I fear that day is drawing near. Lawlessness is becoming institutionalized. It cannot be tolerated.

Now I understand why N.J. law doesn't allow the people to exercise their Second Amendment rights.

Tyrants are only interested in their own power and self preservation.
