"Now, they are afraid, as winds are very strong even now."

They haven't seen anything yet... Mostly likely I-49 will remain open for some time and this would be the best route to evacuate Lafayette and Breaux Bridge areas. The Aexandria coliseum and most large schools in North and Central Louisiana are open to accept evacuees...

There's still time to evacuate but window will close soon...

Weather Channel just reported recon plane just picked up a 160 mph wind in the eastern portion of the Hurricane.

My word, my sister did say that Alexandria was their nearest shelter, but she said that she could not make it because of the closure of the roads. This is going to be the longest night of my life, methinks.
