Did you see the sattalite image in post 1409? It looks like you may now be in the thick of it. Looks like some heavy bands in the Baton Rouge area too.

I can see that someone is coming into the room. That must be you. Don't delete that FReepmail with the link. We can chat another time.
As you can imagine, we were hoping for landfall east of here, but it was nothing personal! You know how it is for those of us in the hurricane-prone regions. We pray we get to dodge the bullet, fully realizing that means someone else will have to take it. It all averages out in the end, I suppose.
My cousin is in Slidell. What do you know about things there?
To: All
Just starting to rain now in North Central LA. We've got evacuation centers loaded full of people in Shreveport and Bossier. There are still beds available in Minden, but filling fast. TV showed a shot of I-49 bumper to bumper.
Hope everyone still down there stays safe.

Oh no! I just didn't know what that image meant. It looked like a slab of cheese with a piece coming out and then going back in. Plus my brain is going downhill fast from being up all night. Just didn't get it and was curious. Thanks for the explanation!

Checking on you. Glad you are ok and still have power! Go take a nap!
To: DBtoo
Looks like its about to go ashore south of Intercoastal City, which will likely see the brunt of the storm surge.
To: DBtoo
actually, it
is a slab of cheese with a piece coming out and then going back in !
foflmao !
no sleep in your forecast ?
To: All; Uncle Sham
I believe we've lost contact with Sham. I guess he finally did lose power. I do hope that's all it is.
Sham, holler at us when you get back online. Prayers for you and yours and your fellow Lousianans. God bless.
To: Uncle Sham
Hey, we've been praying for your safety here! Stay safe, y'hear?? I can't believe you stayed!
To: Uncle Sham; ET(end tyranny); All
I guess I better go to bed, although it sounds like the situation is getting worse. Good luck to you all and stay safe! I'll have to sneak into the bedroom quietly so husband doesn't know I've been up on the computer all night. He'd understand, I just feel a bit sheepish. Goodnight and stay safe!! Of course after I get up I'll be running back to this thread to see what happened in the meantime.

MA, you know he's always been crazy!

Yeah, I'm going to turn in now. It's 5:30 here and I'm feeling like a 12 year old who doesn't want to get caught! Maybe I'll get the cheese thing after I get some sleep. : )
