I don't now why, but they seem to weaken VERY quickly when they hit Louisiana (Maybe the large forests?).

What do you estimate the winds to be there now?

Some goof from Houston's Channel 2.(Actually he seemed like a pretty decent reporter, but Channel 2 is a hype and scare type of sleaze news station.) Looked like he was in a small town downtown, Main Street type intersection. I'm sure they'll go back to him throughout the day, since you guys are pretty much gonna get the center of it all.

Looks like a bit of good news. Scanning the TV channels, seems like the weakening continues, will hit the coast(probably Marsh Island) with 100-120mph sustained winds. 4:30 weather statement said 90mph gusts expected for New Iberia(seems a bit low for that). Bad news is that the radar suggests that it may be shifting north and you'll get the eye. But that's just a layman's guess from watching the radar. Hard to tell the exact center with such a large and raggedy eye.

Radar does look like after this lull ends, you'll get the start of the closer in bands, could be pretty continuous through the main event and the eye. Good luck.

As I was reading your post, the winds kicked back up along with the rains. The mayor of New Iberia is on the radio telling the announcer that it's raining at his home as she passes it.

You mention that "raggety eye". I just checked the Lake Charles radar and it seems to have expanded considerably since it's peak strength.

Yep, but I just checked it and now it looks to be tightening up. And directly south of Marsh Island. Look out, they are talking about increased tornado potential close in to the eye.

I-55 is from New Orleans to Memphis and beyond. It intersect I-12 near Hammond which is west of Slidell.

Two storms in a row...twin storms...aimed by a horn (warning) or sword (dividing) shaped projection at New Iberia...Spanish...New Madrid... Isidore...not a door, but is a warning.

New Madrid is from the Arabic which means Water Channel and is the area seen by some (including FR's own Sabertooth) as being divided by a big earthquake.  Tim Snodgrass wrote that it is because Bush wants to divide Israel in two by setting up the abomination of Palestine in the middle of it and because of Bush's persistance in this anti-Israel move, God will divide Amerca.  Sabertooth didn't say why; he just saw it in a dream.  More here:

There is a setting option in the "computer" in every man's head and every man is asked the question:  "Do you want to receive warnings?"  We should select the option for "Yes, I want to receive warnings."  It would be dumb to select the setting, "No, I do not want to receive warnings."  Far too many mock and scoff because they have done the latter.
