Making pepper spray from it would be a waste of fine Tabasco!

If I had slept at a Holiday Inn last night I might be able to answer that question. :-)

Well here ya go then:

As you can see, if the power holds on for a bit longer, you just might get a nice breather for awhile. That dry area is kinda like a groove in a vinyl record. Maybe its about to play your song.

You're a better source of information than the weather channel.

Perhaps he told some people in earlier times to leave and on the way out they "looked back" and were turned to salt.

Well now, you of all people should know that answer: from the Good Lord's hands!

But, of course! He knew the area would get hit by lots of hurricanes and lose power, so left extra salt in the area so they could still preserve their food. *wink*

Family in Tyler,Tx told me some of the folks from nursing homes along the coast had been transported to safer places.

At least some as far N. as Tyler.

New Iberia has been reporting 25-30mph gusting to 40 mph for the last couple of hours. Probably gonna get a lot higher before its over. So in the dry bands between the rain bands, are the winds usually just as high as within the rain bands?

Try this radar from Lake Charles and you can see the eye of the storm clearly
