This situation reminds me of a baseball game, where the opposing managers each take turns bringing on then replacing pitchers and pinch-hitters LOL
To: sanchmo
speculation among Republicans. Some, he said, believe that if Democrats are allowed to replace Torricelli with a well-known candidate like Lautenberg, Republicans should consider responding in kind with someone like Kean.
Well, I'm glad the GOP has thought of this. This is the
point that SOMEONE on the republican side should be
screaming from the rooftops, IMHO.
If the rats can pull this whenever they have a candidate losing,
then so can the GOP. For that reason alone, this can just not be allowed.

I agree with you. Probably on Saturday!

The FEMALE JUSTICE must be related to Ginsberg. Now she's arguing the case FOR the rat lawyer.
To: TonyInOhio
The NJ Juctices are doing a better job presenting the RAt case than the RAT lawyer.

Losing the senate would be catastrophic.LOL -- but it's really NOT funny -- I think the fix is in too (color-coded absentee ballot suggestion, only 4 ballots returned, other states allow replacement up until the day before...etc...)

Torricelli has not even hinted that if he were re-elected he would not serve. Therefore, the Court could order Torricelli to remain on the ballot based on his implied promise upon being nominated.

Exactly! This is another slippery slope of a decision that will undermine the election process in years to come.

Justice (female) with real east coast accent asks Rat lawyer second softball question--New York law says failure to meet deadline is fatal; New Jersey statute does not. What does that mean.
Sounds like one vote for the Rats.
To: VRWC_minion
One Justice responds to 'Rat - "this case presents a new paradigm"
To: jonathanmo
Exactly. Why are not the minor party candidates raising Hell?

I agree, the fix is in.
The judges are only primping for the TV clip that will be on the evening news.
What a pile of crap!!
To: rintense
This court is really trying hard to get some reason to bend the law. I'm flabbergasted that these justices even have a law degree.
To: SternTrek
"This case presents a new paradigm"- RATS are going to lose-
either here or at SCOTUS who should be very tired of the Dems.

Is the Dem lawyer making a case like "hey...it's only a few absentee ballots (and NONE of them are military) so tough luck if you filled yours out in a timely manner and returned it already" ???This might play in the SCONJ. It won't work at the SCOTUS.
To: mwl1
Man, I hope every third party is watching this and is planning an attack- especially the Constitution Party candidate!
To: TheConservator
New York law says failure to meet deadline is fatal; New Jersey statute does not. What does that mean. Bad thing was she preceded the statement with "Let me give you a present."

What are the other parties in the election saying about this?
To: rintense
I think they'll just say the New Jersey laws suck and let them do it.
