By actually saying that his motivation is political he showed what a truly arrogant dumbass he really is.

" But, do they then shut Ganske out in Iowa by using the NJ strategy?"

Hard to tell...but probably if the precedent started by Torecelli's handlers is allowed to stand. THIS TACTIC WILL HAVE NATIONAL CONSEQUENSES, DEFINITELY!! LONG TERM!!

I'm really getting nervous...and when I get nervous, I get angry...so I think I'll log off and kick a few inanimate objects around the house, finish making a late supper....kick a few MORE inanimate objects around the house....FUME for hours, then go to bed.

The dnc doesn't move an inch anywhere without Hillary and Dashole surveying and an agreeing view with the pollsters FIRST, LAST, and ALWAYS.....

Democrats howl that SCOTUS has "SELECTED" a Republican again. Democrats use this to demomonstate that we need a Democratically controlled Senate to prevent the Conservative SCOTUS from fixing all elections

Could be the gambit. Wow! Just amazing.

Wouldn't it be delicious if SCOTUS decided this one, too? Yeehaw!

...the Dems have proven they will do ANYTHING to stay in power. Rush always said they were funny to watch. I think they're frightening.

I think they're frightening too.

Explain to me why the Dems will lose the lawsuit.

Are you saying that the courts will make an exception for death, not for scandal?? How can we be so sure the court won't stray? Obviously, I agree, no write in campaign could work. Bubba wouldn't really run, and even he might have trouble.

But Clinton as a replacement is so blatently manipulative. Do you really think that NJ voters would stand for that?

More importantly, wouldn't that provoke a backlash of disgust in other races, such as SD, MO, MN, & especially IA? For the first three, it wouldn't take much of a swing to for the GOP to win.

The only problem with that is that Clinton is constitutionally barred from another term. He only gets two during his lifetime. The bar is not for sequential terms, it is terms period.

Is he saying Clinton isn't?

Glad you posted that. I hear that too, and wondered what he meant.

Anyone, including Clinton, can set up residency in NJ by Monday and get on the ballot.

Not as the Democratic Party candidate he can't. That alone will cause his voter pool to split, assuring a Forrester victory. (To say nothing of the absolute OUTRAGE a huge percentage of New Jerseyans - not just Republicans - would feel about being so obviously used like that. Even Hillary at least went to New York, got herself nominated and ran an actual campaign.)

"That expert on FOX also said that the Torch gave us a gift ....when he said that he was doing this to keep the seat out of Republican hands.....that is now public record and could be used against the RATS in court"

Yes, he definitely DID say he was forfeiting in order to keep the seat out of Republican hands. Well, he didn't say "forfeit", but he said he was dropping OUT of the race in order to keep the seat out of Republican hands.

Here's the New Jersey law regarding his resignation within 30 days of the election..... Now the question is will this stand muster of the Judicial system?

19:3-26.  Vacancies in United States senate;  election to fill; temporary appointment by governor
If a vacancy shall happen in the representation of this state in the United  States senate, it shall be filled at the general election next succeeding the  happening thereof, unless such vacancy shall happen within thirty days next  preceding such election, in which case it shall be filled by election at the  second succeeding general election, unless the governor of this state shall  deem it advisable to call a special election therefor, which he is authorized  hereby to do.

The governor of this state may make a temporary appointment of a senator of  the United States from this state whenever a vacancy shall occur by reason of  any cause other than the expiration of the term;  and such appointee shall serve as such senator until a special election or general election shall have been held pursuant to law and the board of state canvassers can deliver to his successor a certificate of election.

I am more interested in learning whether Daschle supported this Hail Mary play -- because it is not going to help Wellstone, Harkin, or others in jeopardy.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if the dims have other tricks up their sleeves for the other seats in jeopardy.

Didn't Torch say he was filing with the NJ Supremes to be taken off the ballot? So, if he loses the case -- as seems likely -- he stays on the ballot. Maybe that's what he wants to have happen.

Or in the least they will have another FLA 2000 issue to inflame the base in November. In the least they end up with a tie or maybe even a majority in the Senate. This is the big game. What a show!

That's the ticket! I'm sure the talking points to that effect are being circulated as we speak!

The latter maybe, but not the former. Jersey would love it. Why do you think they elected someone as greasy and obnoxious and mouthy and low class as Torch in the first place? How many other states would elect someone like that?

"Will the Torch pass on the money he got for running seeing that he is quitting? Or Will He Keep It? It's about 6 Million American Dollars.."

Whatever they do, it will be for the Rat cause--legal or not. Standard MO is to use it illegally and to just pay the fines later...
