This is the only thing the media will talk about for a few days -- how the Democrats are gaming the election in NJ. It will even push Iraq onto the back-burner for a few days. Then Daschle will want his kitchen table issues discussed once the Torricelli debacle dies down, but Bush will try to put Iraq back onto the national spotlight. Depending on how the Republicans fight back over Torricelli, the Dems could be made to appear as power-mongering obstructionists who take the word of a murdering dictator over a sitting president.

People will have to be very careful how they play out the end-game on this.

Sounds by his speech that he was always a great patriot.

A man of good and honorable works.

And, just think of all the women's lives he has saved!

Not once did I hear that he was sorry for being a dirty crook.

I heard that and there has also been a legal opinion rendered to the folks in D.C. Just like the Florida election where SCOTUS ruled -- this will happen there! No Governor is going to cancel a national election -- never, ever!

But have the RATs handed us a campaign issue on a silver platter! Win at any costs! Forget the law, forget the rules! Party of the corrupt clintons has reared its ugly head again. Torch did the DemocRAT response to Pres Bush on Saturday and don't let one person you know forget that!

Given his hanky-wringing opus, can anyone actually figure out what he's going to do? Have his name taken off the ballot & someone else's name put on?

"Try to shoehorn" is correct. Even this, though short of resignation, is a violation of the law, as I understand it.

"If they're losing, just line up another candidate and see if he does better. Meanwhile, the honorable Republican has spent his time campaigning against one candidate, only to be faced with another."

sounds to me like a violation of the "equal justice" and "basic fairness" principles of the federal constitution.

The dems are planning to go to the supreme court and lose... and use it to claim WE stole the election AGAIN, "just like the last election..."

But it sounds like the only way they could get another candidate is IF he resigns!

Why did he do this?
