au revoir mon cher Angelique
A heavy heart

au revoir mon cher AngeliqueI have the truly sad and unenviable task of reporting the loss of a gentle lamb, and fierce patriot, our own dear girl, Angelique.
Simple words cannot express the profound loss I feel. To say I have lost one of my closest and dearest friends would be to betray my own feelings, I adored this girl. Her warm sweet childlike voice, contrasted with her signature feisty repartee, and unbridled humor made her a one-of-a-kind treasure. Her combative defense of her deeply held convictions, crossed many a sword with the best of her friends including yours truly, and her few if any enemies. She was a model Mother, daughter, sister, friend, patriotic American, Franco-American and staunch defender of the principals of a Free Republic, and above all FreeRepublic itself. Angelique said what she believed, with straight talk, a savvy humor and wit, but at times with a velvet sledgehammer ....tears, that was our darling French pastry.
Pray for our sweet girl, as I will, in hopes that she has found comfort and peace in His waiting arms.
pour toujours, mon cher Angel, with love......... Carlo

Thank you, LadyX, for the ping.
This tribute is going to have to be bookmarked.
It's like many of the recipes I'm sure are in the cookbook...it needs to be enjoyed slowly, savored for the many little treasures we find inside...

Methinks many of us will bookmark this thread, HJ, and revisit it whenever we have need of our special friend to hold our hand from heaven as she did in real life.
She always could evoke a laugh or smile - joust like a knight of olde - bring to us words of wisdom from books we didn't take the time to read - inspire and delight us, always.
Our memories of her will spread like ripples on a pond from a stone cast into it.
All the good things she gave to us we will pass on to others in like manner, those good things joined flowing on in the River of Life!
(No, dear Angelique, SierraWasp and I did NOT call you pond scum..:)))
We will fling kisses toward you in heaven that will show up as stars in the sky - and seeing them, always be reminded of you ~ ~ ~ here are my first ones ~ ~

Carlo3b, folks like Angelique are why heaven is gonna be so darn interesting. I never had the pleasure of meeting her face to face, but I met her and grew to like her via FR. [Psssst, she's the lucky one, perhaps; we're still here riding out the growing storm! I look forward to meeting her face to face. Condolences to you who knew her closely; yes, you will miss her ... but there will be a later meeting. What a chapter of freepers there will be 'up there'!

I used to like to yank her chain on all the "French surrender monkey" threads, just to see her come back with both barrels. She rarely really lost her temper, but she never failed to defend the French.I know it was a thrill to watch her scrap with the big boys, she gave my dear Pete, as good as she got...LOL Yes indeed we will all miss her very much, in so many ways. Thanks

Angelique is standing right next to George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, right now.I'll bet she is, and they are in great company, and getting an ear full....I know she would be so proud to see and hear what all of you great folks have to say.

So very sorry to hear this and I pray that God will bless and rest her soul in His care.
... and that He will comfort all of those who knew and loved her and all of us who will miss her.
We all must at one time or another pass through that same veil. I pray we can all live lives, and become involved in activities that will have made our sourjourn here worthwhile for others, committed to truth and virtue, and will prepare us for that umtilamte event. It certainly sounds like Angelique did.
