Animal activists are offering a reward for information that helps them solve the Elizabeth junkyard cat massacre.
An estimated 10 feral cats were killed Sept. 14 at the Warhola Scrap Metals yard in Elizabeth Township. When Manager Janet Grossi arrived that Saturday morning to feed the cats, none greeted her. Instead, she found an ominous scene.

I sincerely hope the sick idiots who used the cats for target practice are apprehended and jailed.
Back in my college days, a buddy of mine had a summer job as a night watchman at a barge repair company down on the river in Pittsburgh. We'd occasionally go down to visit him at night, since his duties were actually pretty boring. As we'd walk along with him on his rounds, we'd assist him in one of his responsibilities: taking pot shots at the rats with .22s. (The owner's of this small company didn't mind that we visited, although they were somewhat concerned about safety and liability. Apparently we made a favorable impression as responsible young adults, and they were happy with our efforts against the rats. Those river rats get BIG!!!)
Ferral cats spread disease and spray nasty smelling cat whiz all over everything, and bred more cats, which spray all over everything. And thats a smell that never goes away, on humid days 5 year old cat pee will smell. Those who get outraged at the shooting of wild cats have never had to work in an area where these nasty vermin range. They don't eat the rats either, there is enough food in dumpsters to keep them well fed. The only rats, frogs, birds, etc. they kill are for sport. And not only wild cats spray cat pee all over everything, domestic cats allowed to roam the neighborhoods by inconsiderate owners spray stinkin' cat pee all over everything too. The Western Pennsylvania Humane Society or some other bleeding heart PETA refugees better come rescue the nasty feline pee machines that are sneak into my yard to kill birds or there are gonna' be some more dead cats. Hooray for whoever removed these vile creatures from the face of this planet.
When I was younger the state of Texas asked hunters to shoot any feral cats they saw. I don't know, but bet the state has dropped that policy due to 'political correctness'.
No shell casings, maybe the shooter used a high-power pellet gun.
Those who get outraged against feral cats have never worked where nasty vermin like rats are a plague...
If they had, they wouldn't care the least whether the cats killed the rats for food or sport.
They'd only be dam* happy that the rats were dead.
Note to flamers: I own a cat and like cats. I like and value humans more.
There is no doubt that "animal rights" extremist groups such as PETA and Animal Liberation Front are composed of fringe lunatics with a severely skewed sense of priorities. However, it never ceases to amaze me that some people so eagerly volunteer that they are similary void of common sense by taking the extreme opposite position on an issue.
Thank-you for illustrating that one doesn't have to be a "cat lover" to appreciate that, while under certain circumstances they can be a nuisance requiring control, there are other circumstances where they fulfill a beneficial role in the overall scheme of things.
If you are the dickhead who lets their cats come and pee in my yard, you better keep them home tonight. I'm putting out the anti-freeze.
How this become a satan worshipping torture thing? It was probably the landowner removing vermin from his property. Thats his property, not a bunch of bleeding heart bed wetting booger eating PETA members.
