Back in my college days, a buddy of mine had a summer job as a night watchman at a barge repair company down on the river in Pittsburgh. We'd occasionally go down to visit him at night, since his duties were actually pretty boring. As we'd walk along with him on his rounds, we'd assist him in one of his responsibilities: taking pot shots at the rats with .22s. (The owner's of this small company didn't mind that we visited, although they were somewhat concerned about safety and liability. Apparently we made a favorable impression as responsible young adults, and they were happy with our efforts against the rats. Those river rats get BIG!!!)
Ferral cats spread disease and spray nasty smelling cat whiz all over everything, and bred more cats, which spray all over everything. And thats a smell that never goes away, on humid days 5 year old cat pee will smell. Those who get outraged at the shooting of wild cats have never had to work in an area where these nasty vermin range. They don't eat the rats either, there is enough food in dumpsters to keep them well fed. The only rats, frogs, birds, etc. they kill are for sport. And not only wild cats spray cat pee all over everything, domestic cats allowed to roam the neighborhoods by inconsiderate owners spray stinkin' cat pee all over everything too. The Western Pennsylvania Humane Society or some other bleeding heart PETA refugees better come rescue the nasty feline pee machines that are sneak into my yard to kill birds or there are gonna' be some more dead cats. Hooray for whoever removed these vile creatures from the face of this planet.
