You mean that if John Mitchell had resigned, Nixon wouldn't have had to resign?

"It appears these shenanigans were the work of one young staffer who didn't have enough supervision," the Democrat lying socialist bastard said.

Harkin said no crime was committed. He acknowledged, however, that the taping was done at the request of one of his staff members, Rafael Ruthchild, 21. Harkin said no one else on his staff knew about the request.

Excuse me Mr.Democrat, but remember what YOUR party did to Linda Tripp?

Sen. Tom Harkin, Iowa Democrat and one of the 100 Senate "jurors" in the trial, denounced the "reckless" and "partisan" impeachment action by the House, calling the case "a pile of dung."

Now caught fastening his trousers over his own pile of dung, Harkin blamed a lack of supervision.

Where does the dung buck stop, Senator? Tell us when you're finished covering Uranus.

Things look bad, but Zogby will come to the rescue and announce Harkin is up by fifteen in his latest poll.

I'm trying to figure out how you guys know that Raphael Ruthchild is a woman. Last I heard, Raphael is a man's name. Not that that means anything these days.

Harkin said he takes ultimate responsibility for the incident. "I apologize to my fellow Iowans for allowing this to happen," he said.

What's this mean? He takes "ultimate responsibility" but pays no cost? Just words . . .

Senator Harken is an old '60's type lib who has been in Iowa so long, he thinks he deserves the role of Senate gadfly. Ganske has a real outside chance to dethrone this liberal if Pubs will go to the polls. Bush only lost Iowa by a few thousand votes. I just e-mailed the Des Moines Register asking why Iowans keep sending this lunkhead back to the Senate. I also mentioned that Iowans do not seem to be the type of voters who like spies and corruption. Who knows? The public put up with the WH adulterer and crook so maybe Iowa will give Harken a pass. I pray not.

[The tape allegedly was made by Brian Conley, 53, of Des Moines. Conley was invited to the small Ganske event, said David Wiggins, a West Des Moines lawyer Harkin hired to investigate cover-up the matter.]

Caper?
Prank?
Shenanigan?
Secretly taped?
Leaked to a reporter? (with what intent?)
Taping done at Harkin Dungheap's staff request?
Crime?
Youth?
53-year-old former Harkin Dungheap campaign worker?

Harkin Dungheap takes full responsibility but his junior flunkie is shown the door?

Which is it?

If I were a liberal trying to make sense of this, I am sure my head would want to explode for the pressures of ambiguity. But then upon mature deliberation, I would figure it out: Ganske SAID he would ATTACK Harkin with a SMILE on his face, and I would know where the real hate crime is, and vote for Harkin Dungheap again.

Conley was a congressional aide to Harkin in the mid-1970s, but the senator said he barely recalls him. "I can't remember the last time I saw this guy."

What with Iowa being such a big state and all,I can easily believe this. There must be dozens of people who live there.

It seems a party member broke discipline. That means, "don't get caught". Comrade Harkin was most displeased, I'll bet. When Comrade Harkin gets his own gulag, you'll know where to find the offending member.

Maybe Comrade Bubba Klinton will be there, too.
