Hedgecock Just Said Talent Has Pulled Ahead of Carnahan. Any evidence?
Rush Limbaugh Show | 9/27/2002 | LS

Posted on 09/27/2002 9:30:04 AM PDT by LS

Roger Hedgecock, subbing for Rush, just said that he had a poll showing Talent was not ahead of the "Widder Carnahan" in Missouri---which, in his opinion, is why the Dems are getting frantic. But he didn't give a source. Anyone have any info on this phantom poll?

Okay, am I misunderstanding? The Dems are getting frantic because a poll says Talent is not ahead?

Only relevant thing I've seen lately is this:

Poll: Carnahan appears to have slight lead in Senate race (Sept 23, 2002)

I thought he said that, but then he went on to say that if Talent wins, he takes his seat immediately (which we knew) and then referred to this poll as showing Talent ahead. He sounded somewhat confused, but I was wondering if there was any evidence.

That was the last poll I thought I saw, too. This is why his comments confused me.

Aha. A little research pays off. Take a look at Focus on Talent - Missouri contest could tip the Senate to the GOP — at least temporarily.

Relevant part:

Lame-duck speculation has heated up recently because Talent has. Although the race is officially a dead-heat in published numbers, the Republican challenger is up four to seven points in internal tracking polls — and even a prominent Democratic pollster concedes that Talent is trending upward.

Uh-Oh! Time for the Demmycrats to make plans to keep the St. Louis voting places open past the official closing times.

NR Online reported yesterday that Talent's internal tracking polls indicate a consistent 6-7% lead.

From Joel Mowbray's column:

Lame-duck speculation has heated up recently because Talent has. Although the race is officially a dead-heat in published numbers, the Republican challenger is up four to seven points in internal tracking polls — and even a prominent Democratic pollster concedes that Talent is trending upward.

I sure hope Election Observers are on hand in Missouri this November at the voting stations. Remember the shenanigans in St. Louis in the 2000 election? Remember, not all election fraud takes place in South Florida. We've got to give credit to the Missouri Demmycrats as well.

Well we know it is NOT ZOGBY

Zogby's polls are more accurate because they include the last minute, "enhanced" democrat turnout.

You wait and see.

Without knowing the source of the poll it's hard to help. However I askeed 5 coworkers who live in Missouri and according to that poll Talent is leading by 60 points. Does that help?

I don't know about you, but I'm getting increasingly disgusted with supposedly unbiased public polls that show one thing while internal polls show another. And when election day comes, the internal polls turn out to be the correct ones. What's the deal: are the public polls run by partisan zealots or just incompetents? Or perhaps incompetent partisan zealots?
