This is a Daschle comment from this morning quoted by Fred Francis of MSNBC. Daschle was commenting about how the President has not gone far enough in being conciliatory to the Democrats. Daschle is now saying that because of the lack of trust they feel, they may not pass Homeland Security or an Iraq resolution prior to going home to campaign. Your comments are welcome. Hopefully, you will all fight back. This comment was particularly beyond the pale, don't you think? This is war, folks. Our President is being savaged and undermined during a time of war. They are now also asking the question, "Are you better off than you were two years ago?" This garbage must not stand!

I'm sure he took a poll to see which tie he should wear when having mental breakdowns on the floor.

Its all about politics with Tommy Daschund. As far as I know the President is the one who is worried about the country while Daschund would like to fiddle amidst the burning of D.C. And incidentally, the illegitimate Senate Majority Leader wants to do that with an eye to the polls.

Based on their recent performances and a VERY old, but well proven, concept from Sun Tzu's The Art of War (if your enemy insists on suicide give him all aid possible) Republicans ought to do everything possible to ensure that Lil Tommy boy and Owl Gore have continual access to microphones between now and election day!

"You can believe the American haters are calling. Dianne Feinstein said her calls are running 10,000 to 1 against the war." Dianne Feinstein's phone programs are set up in such a way that dissent is practically impossible, and the mind-numbed robots fielding the calls do not lead one to believe they would give her other than an opinion she wants to hear.(Same for Boxer, I gave up calling and writing after our small business got an IRS audit in a year we lost money.--Hassle audit??--How would one ever find out?)

You are correct. Little Tommy has to bring them up because he and the last administration lived by them, remember? Tommy is losing ground and fading into the background. He stepped on it this time and no matter what he says now he looks like the silly little fool he is.

This is so typical democrats. This is nothing more than their usual "projection technique" in which they accuse the repubs of doing what the dems are really doing.
Sooooo ... Daschle has just told us they are horrified by their poll numbers; they are the ones watching their poll numbers.
And ... if Daschle keeps his promise and doesn't sign a Homeland Security bill or a resolution for Iraq - the dems can kiss the election goodbye.
They have totally overlooked how well liked and trusted this President is. Baaaaaad Mistake!!!!

Why doesn't President Bush call an emergency joint session of Congress, present them with a resolution, and demand their vote right then and there?

I got a kick out of Diane F. saying that she got 10,000 calls to her office against going into Iraq, and 200 in favor! You know, I have a strange suspicion that a whole bunch of anti-war people in Cali, and surrounding states, and in the east probably called her office, maybe a bunch of them called a "lot" of times, just to let people think that 10,000 people called!
Now I do realize there are big groups of extreme liberals in her state; but there are enclaves of conservatives there too. Also a couple of big military installations. A lot of people living away from the coast, and up in the north voted for Bush/Cheney in 2000. I really doubt that many people called her office to say that!
