Each day brings more bad news for U.S. capitalism -- another top executive under investigation or yet another accounting scandal.
But some of America's top business leaders have decided to take action to prevent such scandals from happening again, to repair the reputations of big corporations and to restore confidence in the stock market and the economy. And while there's a remarkable consensus about what needs to be done, their proposals aren't without controversy.
Two of America's oldest and most respected business groups -- the Business Roundtable and the Conference Board -- have put forth voluntary reforms companies should adopt to make sure those firms are run better and more honestly.

Congressman Billybob
In the meantime the great fraud that is the US Congress and its fiscal irresponsibility continues, completely unchecked--
Congress made a lot of noise, tried to grab some headlines with this issue. But the real burden of cleaning up corporate America is being borne by capitalists. This shows the system is self-correcting.
That's because politicians and bureaucrats don't create marketable goods and services or create jobs. Instead, they extort money from the value creators and job creators (from high-risk entrepreneurs to working-class laborers), skim some money for themselves, then dole some out to their cronies' pet projects and what's left goes to constituent issues/projects.

War of Two Worlds
Value Creators versus Value Destroyers
The first thing civilization must have is business/science. It's what the family needs so that its members can live creative, productive, happy lives. Business/science can survive, even thrive without government/bureaucracy.
Government/bureaucracy cannot survive without business/science. In general, business/science and family is the host and government/bureaucracy is a parasite.
Keep valid government services that protect individual rights and property. ...Military defense, FBI, CIA, police and courts. With the rest of government striped away those few valid services would be several fold more efficient and effective than they are today.
Underwriters Laboratory is a private sector business that has to compete in a capitalist market. Underwriters laboratory is a good example of success where government fails.
Any government agency that is a value to people and society -- which there are but a few -- could much more effectively serve people by being in the private sector where competition demands maximum performance.
Wake up! They are the parasites. We are the host. We don't need them. They need us.
