Where are the freakin parents? Any parent that allows his or her kid not to go to school over a dress or hair code dispute needs to be hauled into court themselves. It's ludicrous. Of course, I tend to favor schools having uniforms. I wonder how this babe would like dem rules?

And I'd never accept uniforms. I'd go to court first. Dress codes are one thing, uniforms another. Uniforms are crutches that deal with symptoms, not problems.

However, it's not a problem I have to deal with in this school district.

She probably wouldn't like "dem rules" and would probably do what she is doing now -- boycotting classes.

The real solution to this is no government schools. If all schools were private, then parents (or the kids of wiimpy parents) could decide what the standards would be at schools of their own choosing. As long as there are government schools and compulsory education laws, there will be constant battles over who runs things and how.

Where are the freakin parents?

Her mother, PeTina Lanegan, permits her daughter this hairstyle.

Lemme guess -- we should confiscate PeTina's tax dollars, but should expel her daughter if we collectively disapprove of her mother's tolerance in hair-style?

Well, after all, PeTina Lanegan can go enroll her child in a private school which permits such styling, and pay her own way. The important thing is that we keep her money, right??

She wouldn't, and neither would any other right thinking American. GOVERNMENT school has NO RIGHT to tell ANYONE how to dress or look - NONE! Period. You so obviously miss the point here. It's not about the hair. It's about GOVERNMENT CONTROL, state, county, local, federal, IT DOESN'T MATTER.
