I figured that was probably the case. I was just trying to throw in some boneheaded humor.

Netscape 7.0.
Somebody else posted it that way a few weeks ago and I pointed it out and got flamed for being and idiot who didnt' know what Molon Labe was.
Of course if I knew that MWLWN LABE was intended to be then of course I must know what MOLON LABE means.
That feller is the same type who gives new shooters stupid looks and smart ass comments at the range and gun shop.

I hear you. And that same feller usually can't keep 'em on the paper himself. I find that one of the most frustrating things about the 'net is that people do tend to be abusive who would never mouth off like that face to face. No honor there.
Netscape 7, hmmm? I'm running Internet Exploder 5.5 on a Win NT 4 box, and all is well there.

LA will vote to ban self-defense someday soon.

Thanks for telling me the Why. I don't really care if the font doesn't work for my computer but now I don't feel left out.
Did you just see Dasche crying is little A$$ off about Bush saying he isn't serious about the Nation's Security? HAHAHAHAHA
"I was at Normandy (three second pause) just last year."
It was as if Daschle was projecting himself onto the battlefield via a Saving Private Ryan memory. What a loser.

I'm pretty sure my .338 WM cold push 1000 yards as well, and it doesn't weigh 30 lbs.
I believe .300 win mag is the "ideal" sniper caliber. And that is the point, next will be all other sniper calibers, .308, 338 Lapua, .30-06, .223. Then they can go to all military calibers 9mm Parabelum, 7.62X39, .30-40 Craig, 45-70 GOVERNMENT...ect. Incrementalism trying to get a foothold.

Scum like Da$$hole are exactly the creatures that Alexander Hamilton had in mind when he wrote in The Federalist Papers that (paraphrasing here) "we cannot always be assured that men of character will be at the helm of the ship of state".
God damn him and all his ilk.

Ah. Many thanks for the clarification!

I was on a B52 mission down in the Parrot's Beak one time that killed an elephant with a 750-lb. bomb. I remember thinking at the time that even Elmer Keith would have had to admit we were adaquately 'gunned'.Elmer Keith was the father of the .44 Magnum, as you no doubt know. I was all of fifteen at the time (1955) but remember the big deal made of the gun and cartridge. Actually, I became interested in big-bore revolvers through the .44 Magnum, bought the first one I could find. I got the "Keith" bullet mould and started casting his semi-wad cutter plain-base 250 grain bullet.
The .44 Magnum is no longer the most powerful production handgun ctg. but it's very accurate and works great for pretty much anything one wants to hunt in N. America. Load it down in power just slightly and the gun becomes almost tame.
Well, enough about Elmer Keith. This thread is on the .50 cal. Don't own one but would like to.

"The 50 caliber sniper rifle is an extremely powerful weapon which uses high-caliber ammunition at distances averaging between 400 and 1,700 yards" My Weatherby .460 can do this too. For that matter my model 70 in 300H&H can reach out to over a 1000 yards easily.
I compelety agree, Im personally boycotting CA and LA from this day forward

Why didn't the assasins choose .50 caliber rifles if they're so great for assasinations? Oh, they know full well that .50 cals aren't used for assassinations, despite what they may say. It's all about banning firearms that could be used effectively against police or national guard vehicles (armored or otherwise).

Why oust Saddam when the enemy lives in KA?
Should we send cash and supplies to Kalifornian residents in the hopw that they'll rid themsleves of this oppressive regime?
Of course, Kalifornains will continue to crap in their own nest then move to other parts of the country which they will undoubtedly liberalize and ruin as they did in Denver.

There is only one way I am aware of to be "victorious" in a fight.
"First you WIN, then you fight."
We already lost. It wasn't you or me. It was the stupidity of the last three generations. The battle was reversed in 1913 - 1918 when the other team succeeded in capturing both our MONEY and our LAW. After that it was all dopwnhill, and still is.
It was a counter revolution to our American Revolution, and it was based upon the exploitation of stupidity and weakness, and still is.
We deserved to lose. Not regain the upper hand we would have to become educated again. Fat chance now that they are in charge of the schools.
The "City" rules us, and that's why we see Greenspan being "Knighted" by the Queen. He works for her, not us.

Of course if I knew that MWLWN LABE was intended to be then of course I must know what MOLON LABE means. I think "MOLON LABE" is a Greek expression, spelled mu omega lamba omega nu lamda alpha beta epsilon; in the symbol font the poster used (which is on my machine, if not yours) most of the Greek leters correspond to their translated equivalents except that omega is located under "W". Perhaps the person was writing it that way to be cute, but if that is the correct spelling of the Greek expression I can't particularly fault someone for spelling it correctly (with omegas rather than omicrons, if that's how it's spelled).
