ANY FREEPERS IN SEATTLE?

Are there any Freepers living in the Seattle area. On October 6th the Leftist - Anti-America crowd will be protesting the War on Iraq and everything else that they hate about the USA. It will probably be at Westlake Mall or the Federal Building - they haven't posted a location yet.

Is anyone interested in participating in a Pro-USA peaceful counter protest with US flags and signs in support of the USA and our President? (No Aryans, violent types or goons need apply).

This morning you heard Judai on KVI. I asked her to call Kirby because she gets up early. But I just happended to be up as well and heard her - GREAT job Judai! - Anyway, the emails they were referring to were the ones I had sent Kirby, and Kirby said he had planned to talk about them anyway at a time closer to the FReep. Yeah I am really sad to be missing this freep. My husband could come if we had childcare while I work the festival at church. If we find someone free and willing to keep an eye on my two youngest I will send my hubby up to hang out with you all for a few hours. I know he wants to come too!

Last time we were at Westlake, btw, was to protest the bombing of Serbia. My younger son made it on television that time. Kirby was there for that one.

Bagdhad Jim Mcdermott is back from his traitorous trip to Iraq! He will be meeting with constituents in South Seattle this Sunday, October 6 from 1-2:30 (Details Below). Let's FReep Bagdhad Jim before the Westlake FReep. The timing is perfect and we can all drive to the downtown FReep at Westlake right afterwards. What do you all think? Spread the word!

Congressman McDermott has returned from his trip to Baghdad. He will hold two "Reports to Our Community," sponsored by the Democratic committees

in the south part of Congressional District 7 and in the North of District 7.

The South end meeting will be this Sunday, October 6th, 1-2:30 p.m., at the
Jefferson Park Community Center, 3701 Beacon Ave, Seattle.

North end meeting will be on Sunday the 14th. Location to be announced.

Yes, Mcdermott will be speaking somewhere in the North end on Sunday the 13th (not the 14th). I will keep you guys posted as soon as I hear more. I hope a bunch of us will show up for the Town Meeting in the S. End on the 6th. It is at 1pm at the Jefferson Park Commnity Center - 3701 Beacon Ave, Seattle. We can go to the Westlake FReep right afterwards.

I can't decide if we should protest outside - participate in the meeting inside and ask the tough questions - or if we should display a huge cloth banner in the middle of the meeting with the single word TRAITOR! printed on it.

What do you guys think?

If the Unwashed leave Volunteer Park at 3pm - some should be arriving by 3:30. 3:15 should be fine for a meeting and wil give us time to get a good spot and organize a bit.

I went to the McDermott Town Hall Meeting today. A handful of Freepers were there with some excellent signs. Unfortunately the vast majority of those attending (at least 250) in the packed room were gung-ho supporters of McDermott. Jihad Jim literally spent the entire 1 1/2 hours of his meeting bashing the USA. He said that the war on Iraq was merely a ploy by President Bush to distract the American people from the economy. He spoke of dying children in Iraq and polluted water and blamed the US. In fact he blamed the USA for every possible wrong in the world with the possible exclusion of athlete's foot. It was hard to take, especially when he accused the President of using the 09/11 Terrorist attacks for his own political benefit.

This man has no shame. I got up during the question/Answer session and pointed out that in his entire harrangue he failed to mention what Sadaam is about, what he has done to his and other peoples and the threat he poses to the U.S. and the world. Jim suggested that the WMD threat is a made up bogeyman. He talked about how he felt so free and unfettered in Iraq - the only problem in the Iraqi paradise is apparently they don't have a prescription drug plan (I'm serious)our fault too.

When I made my comments I was heckled, I was told that I was "in the wrong crowd" , even though I was probably one of the few in the room who is actually a constituent.

One brave felow asked what Mr. McDermott was doing to control rampant spending in Washingotn. Mr Mcdermott said (and once again I am serious) that he has been trying to cut defense spending for years (to wild applause).

i could go on, but I must tell you all about the FReep at Westlake. It was very nice meeting Libertina and the FReepers who showed up. At our peak there were 30+ of us. We had a good time and our very presence seemed to drive the unwashed hippies nuts.

Carol Cassady came by and we sang a few patrotic songs and chanted a few chants.

As time went on though the mood changed. The Hate America crowd began to get nastier (and a few were just looney). They started to come over to our side of the street and harass our small group. One slimebag unprovoked threatened to throw a rock at one of our group. The police said they could/would do nothing unless an actual assault occured.

We soon saw the thousands of the great unwashed marching towards us. One of the Cops quietly suggested that we get out of there as they did not have the numbers to protect us. So we left.

What became clar to me is that the Lefties are a scary bunch, they hate those who disagree with their worldview. If these folks ever got into power it would be off to the re-education camps for all of us (I wish I was joking).

Anyways I'm glad I went to wave the flag a bit. I am very proud of those of you who showed up. It was 5,000 to about 30 but I think we made our point.

Can't wait to do it again!
