St.Petersburg law enforcement officers discovered a very sensational find, which is most likely yet another mass burial situated near the Russia’s northern capital. Members of the Memorial searching group suppose that mass executions were held at the Rzhevsky artillery range during 1937-38.

I can't remember where I read that, but the author Dmitri Volkogonov comes to mind. Dzhugashvili was known to be radical and the failure to sit for exams may have been a useful pretext to toss him out of the school.

A group from northwestern Minnesota must have been reading that book when they picked up their belongings and moved to Russia at about that time. They were back in a few years.

I don't have the number, but you might check "The Black Book of Communism" that was published
a few years ago. I think it should be listed over at www.amazon.com.
Oh, if you haven't seen it, another great book is "The Commissar Vanishes" by David King.
It has great series of Soviet photos in which murdered/removed members of
the Soviet power structure "disappear" from published photos.
(Amazing what they could do even without Adobe Photoshop!)

IIRC, I did see a British documentary that said (hope I got this right) that the
peace-time Soviet army had more dead from the Stalinist purges than KIAs of any known
army during wartime (up to that point).

I may have gotten this bit of history wrong...but the spirit of it was at least that
Stalin killed as many soldiers/officers of his own army/military as a foreign power
probably would do in a real shooting war.

As I recall (my son did a research paper on it this past spring) they think it is somewhere between 20 and 30 million. Give or take a few hundred thousand. Uncle Joe. BTW, his real name wasn't Stalin. The word, pronounced sta-lean, in Russian means "steel." It was a nickname. He was also studying to be a priest when they kicked him out of the seminary for reading/preaching Marx.

And Marx himself was supposedly a disgruntled Christian.

There was a book about totalitarian murders in the 20th century. The numbers are staggering. Hundreds of millions.

Stalin: Josef Vissarionovich Dzhugashvili.

Lenin: Vladimir Ilich Ulyanov.

Hitler: Wierd case! Father Alois was a bastard and took his mom's born name of Shickelgruber. Alois later attempted to take the name of his stepfather, Hiedler, but a parish priest misspelled it and the name became Hitler.

Mao Tse-tumg: an alteration of 'mousie dung.'

Robert Conquest put the number at 40,000,000. He was mocked by the Left until the Iron Curtain came down and the Russian government had arrived at the same number.

Hitler was kicked out of a Jewish art school and then committed crimes against humanity abgainst the Jews.
Stalin was kicked out of a school for being socialist and then committed crimes against humanity against anti-socialists.
Al Gore flunked out of a Christian school and so what would happen if he acquired power?

#4---Shrillary Rotten Clinton is now a Sen. of N.Y.-What happens next, hmmm?(That is scary)

MASS GRAVE FOUND IN MOSCOW’S SUPREME COURT

It was reported today that a mass grave of the 1930s – 1940s – 1950s was found in
the basement of the building of the Russian Supreme Court in Moscow (Povarskaya
Street, 15). This grave was discovered during repair works, when Turkish
constructions workers found human skeletons, bones, and sculls. Specialists have
already determined the appropriate age of the grave. The people were buried in the
1940s or 1950s; the experts' data were sent to the Office of the Public Prosecutor of
Moscow, while the bones were sent to a morgue. The prosecuting bodies will investigate the whole matter and then
decide if there is a need to institute criminal proceedings or not.

The building of the Russian Supreme Court was built during theStalin era, when Moscow was undergoing the process of
the general reconstruction. There are two versions to explain the origin of the grave. The first says that those bones
were the remains of those people who were executed as a result of Stalin’s repression. The second version says that it
might be a common graveyard, since there used to be a church on the site of the Supreme Court’s building.

Five mass graves have been discovered in Moscow: a grave at the Yauza hospital, which is the result of on security
bodies (executed people were buried in 1921-1926, and Vagankovskoye graveyard (1926-1935), the graveyard near the
Moscow crematorium (1934-1950). There are also two grave sites of the Soviet People’s Commissariat for Internal
Affairs (1936-1937).

Genocide in the 20th Century:

That is a masterpiece. Please, edit the fine print and make bumperstickers out of it. I will buy one. Maybe under the line below the photo, you can put a website address where the material in the box can be found.

That's a powerful message. Get it out!

I read a story - maybe apocryphal - about him. He left two envelpes for his successor "to be opened after my death." On the outside of one it said "If things get bad" - inside a note said "blame it on me." On the outside of the other it said "If things get worse" - inside a note said "do what I did."
