John Cornyn-R, left, and Ron Kirk-D
Earlier Friday, the Cornyn campaign sent reporters a copy of the Kirk fund-raiser he has scheduled Monday in San Francisco with Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Calif., California Sens. Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein and former Texas Gov. Ann Richards.
Ms. Lee was the only member in Congress to vote against the use of force in Afghanistan.
Is it just me or is this the stupidest thing Kirk could do to himself after running down the military last week?
Keep up the good work, Ron !! You're making John Cornyn's job easy !!

Please let me know if you want ON or OFF my Texas ping list!. . .don't be shy.
No, you don't HAVE to be a Texan to get on this list!

just fyi......

Kirk spokesman Justin Lonon said: "It's ridiculous to suggest that Ron Kirk shares all of the views of those that might be listed on an invitation. Does John Cornyn share the views of his Enron and WorldCom supporters?" If it weren't for the corporate scandals, this midterm year would be o-vah for the Democrats. That is all that they got. Damn.

Martin Frost---now there's a real piece of work!

Ron Jerks campaign keeps getting more to the left all the time. What will happen if this man is elected will he stay in washington working for texas.I say he will make clinton look like a homebody IMHO.

I think it's just about over for Kirk......

If Enron is all the DIMocRAT's have got, then they better shut up. They're in that as deep as any GOP.

I'm a GOOD 'RAT !

I think Cornyn will likely carry the Texas counties that Bush won in 2000, just imho....

I say he will make clinton look like a homebody IMHO. I think Kirk's chances are very slim now. But I would not be surprised for him to see the writing on the wall and try to smear Cornyn in the final stretch of this race. Expect the unexpected from a desperate Ron Kirk......

You better believe that both Kirk and Sanchez are going to bring out the race card against Cronyn and Perry. It wouldn't surprise me if their buddies in the NAACP and LULAC start putting commercials on TV with Cornyn and Perry wearing KKK outfits.

The Dallas Morning News and it's owner, the Belo Corp., have been paying "non-bribe cash" payments to black politicians in Dallas for years. They would back a black leftist over a white anything in a minute. Belo has never explained its share of the rewards for Kirk's endless bond issues and tax increases in Dallas. We got a black city Counselman who was convicetd of bribery and a black police chief who used to persuade nudie bar owners to pay up.
Frost? Where's the surprise. He is a typical ultra-left wing, liberal extremist who supported Willie no matter what the facts were. How the fine Texans in Arlington, Texas continue to elect this pinko, I'll never know (other, of course, the many, many votes he gets from Mexicans and dead blacks).

You are right. The rats are sweating out the Senate big time, and the heavy hitters like Charles Rangel, Maxine Waters and Sheila Jackson Lee, along with Jesse and Al be steppin up for the brotha - then throw Henry Waxman and Martin Frost and you've got the makings of a rat fest. Cornyn has got to win this race!

KRLD was really putting out the Dem slant yesterday, mentioning in every one of its Ron Kirk stories that "polls show the race in a dead heat". Completely ignored the Chronicle poll of a 6 pt. Cornyn lead that came out to much fanfare a day or two earlier, or several other recent polls with a Cornyn lead. It was clear that this was a chosen tact by KRLD. KLIF on the other hand got the story correct.

Cornyn has got to win this race!
If Texans sends Kirk (who was a big proponent of Internet taxation while mayor)
to the Senate...they will rue the day.

I think it's obvious that, if elected, Kirk will be representing both NY and California more than Texas.
Heaven help us all!
What irks me about Kirk is that he is running as a black who happens to be a "man" and not as a man who happens to be black!

Hmm?? That reminds me of the ad the NAACP ran in election 2000. It implied that George Bush was at the wheel of the pickup truck from which James Byrd was dragged to death and beheaded......

Leave it to the Liberal media. Thanks for the info.

Kirk to meet with Barbara Lee, Boxer, Feinstein in Cal I guess it's true.....
Turds... Birds of a feather.....

Yes, he would.....
Kirk would be the puppet of da$$hole, I think. He's already shown that in his lockstep questioning on Iraq, and had to quickly backpeddle on that when he was bitterly criticized for his insults to the military folks. Cornyn called him on that right away, too. I say Cornyn in a decision before our heads hit the pillow November 5th.....
