LOL! You are so funny! Glad you agree with me about how dopey gore looked! He looks even more weird than he did in 2000! And he really does have a fake drawal, as you said. He just comes across like such a total fake after 19 months of President Bush.

I think there was a book called Johnny Tremain, fiction, but it was my very favorite book. It is STILL a good book. Both my kids read it as part of our study of the Revolution last year! Another one that is good is "April Morning" about a young man whose father takes part in the stand at Lexington Green.

Well, folks! I can't stay around long tonight.
It's mr Ohio's birthday today, and I haven't given him my present yet. ;o)
Good night, all!

Nah, not that far back. I lived just outside the city limits so we got to ride a school bus which came to our driveway and we had to walk about 20 feet from the front door to it. Now, there are stories going around where kids had to walk to school in the snow, uphill both ways!!! LOL. We had it easy compared to my mother's family who really had to walk a long distance to school, church, etc. She is 98. She tells the story of walking to church for morning service and getting home late that afternoon just in time for evening chores. No thanks!!! Maybe that is why she has lived such a long life. All of that exercise had to have been good for all of them way back then. I am to spoiled with our modern conveniences!!

So, based on your post, one can logically conclude that Republicans are leaders, and Democrats are ________.

I learned much more about Texas than I did about, let's say.......Nebraska........ which is also big and far away from here! LOL, that's probably because Nebraska never fought for independence from Mexico! In all seriousness, I've always loved history and have been very disappointed at how little stress is put on it in many of our public schools. Geography is another area where students in my area are extremely weak and there's no excuse for it. :::stepping off my soapbox:::

Hmmm...actually the NEA and those in their ranks who *choose* the curriculum are the ones to blame. I know of many teachers who despise what is put before them to teach. That's not to say there aren't many in the ranks of socialist teachers.
I despise revisionist history. arghghg.

2 and 1/2 miles each way to my 1 room school house. One way was uphill all the way. Sometimes got to ride the horse, but there were 8 other kids. True.
