It's great all the time here. Dooley McCluskey's is no longer there, but I think it is another Irish place. I haven't paid close attention.
Have you been to Coyote Bar and Grill or Boar's Crossing?
To: Southflanknorthpawsis
I knew that Dooleys closed. Too bad. Great times were had there. Never been to the Coyote or Grills I don't think. I'll have to check it out when I come out.
Last time I was there was in '96. Flew out for the weeked to see the Giants play the Chargers.... Went up to Malibu for a day, then came back east. Too quick. The shops in downtown Carlsbad are nice. Over the years have done the Tiajuana trip where you park and walk over the border, Balboa Park, The zoo, Coronado, seaworld, LA, Palm Springs. He used to also live across 1 up in Redando Beach. That was a neat place to vist too, but I'm talking 20+ years ago....

I can remember looking across the lagoon at the farms that used to be where the lego thing is. You could use a pair of binocs and see them picking tomatoes across the water...Things change quick in CA, that's for sure.

Yep......good old TJ. I haven't been there for quite some time, but I doubt it has changed much. The zoo is always nice.

Yes and it's growing rapidly here. But we still have the strawberry fields at the north end of Car Country and alongside I-5. And of course the south end is the flower fields.

Thanks for the update. Will keep in touch.....

Palomar is a controled airport, there had to be 3 screwups for this to happen. Both pilots with their heads up their backsides and the controler that was handleing their approach and departure. Where the crash occured is within the airport traffic area.

The genius writes: "
10News has reported that at least one person was aboard each plane."
I take it from this that logic is no longer a requirement at journalism schools.
headline: "Planes Collide In Midair..."
Have you ever noticed that they never collide in "lower air" or "upper air", they only have "midair" collisions. Maybe the genius that wrote the first quote I posted could lobby the legislature to ban all flights from "midair".

Apologies for the multiple posts. I haven't a clue why that happened. I hit post once and it acted as normal. Weird !!!!

10News has reported that at least one person was aboard each plane. The really amazing this is that this line has never been updated during their (10News) re-writes of the story seven or nine times this afternoon. That means that this line has gone right over the head (or comprehension) of their editors seven or nine times!!!
Someone e-mail this thread to them!

[The Mooney is] ... like a sportscar.
Yes, like a poor mans "fighter plane". 200 MPH, great gas mileage, 1,100 mile range, fully IFR, etc.
I enjoy landing at LAX or Oakland and being able to maintain 170kts (~200MPH) on the final approach and keep up with the jets. The Mooney is a "floater" and a little hard to slow down without a "spoiler", but the big airports have lots of runway.
