10News has reported that at least one person was aboard each plane. I'm sorry but can it go any stupider than this?
Can it? Can it?

Yes, it is near Lego Land. Also close to the Carlsbad PD where my brother, two sisters, and mom work.

Well... take your average TV "Journalist" and drop their IQ by 10 points; now you have SoCal Journalist
Now wait a minute that means a SoCal Journalist has a negative IQ..
Then of course you did say SoCal.

10News has reported that at least one person was aboard each plane. You think?

It is theoretically possible that one pilot bailed out, leaving the aircraft to sputter along out of control. Highly unlikely of course.

Well... take your average TV "Journalist" and drop their IQ by 10 points; now you have SoCal Journalist. Deduct another 10 points for the damage done to their IQ by the blow-dryer...
My favorite is Los Angeles "anchor" Paul Moyer...he's the one who deftly advised us, during the OJ Simpson/Al Cowlings freeway gig that "We can confirm now that there is at least one person in that Bronco!"

'At the time of the crash, there was at least one person on the ground.'
'all passengers made it to the ground."
I'm looking forward to seeing these lines as reporters (and their editors) get even worse.

"A Dutchess is not a single engine plane ..." OK then, how 'bout:
"...there was a least one engine on each plane."

What about drones? I hear they are increasingly popular among the military these days. In Afghanistan for sure.

CARLSBAD, Calif. -- Two personal aircraft have collided midair near Palomar Airport in Carlsbad, 10News reported.
10News has reported that are at least one person was aboard each plane. Fatalities have been confirmed by rescue workers, but it is uncertain how many may have died.
The accident happened around 1 p.m. northwest of the airport, near Cannon Road and Faraday Avenue.
Carlsbad emergency crews are responding to the scene, but initial reports have said that there are no injuries on the ground.
Jerry Snyder, a spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration, identified the two planes as a twin-engine Beechcraft Duchess and a single-engine Mooney MO20.
Video from the scene shows wreckage strewn about a canyon area near the airport, forcing firefighters to scramble down the hillsides and cut away brush to get at the planes.
It is unknown what may have led to the crash. Weather was described as "perfect for flying."
Witnesses reported that both four-seat civilian aircraft were headed east when they collided, Carlsbad police information officer Lynn Diamond said.
Sky10 has been sent to the scene, as well as crews from the 10News newsroom. Watch 10News Live @ 5 p.m. for a full report.

I remember after Flight 800 went down and they started to bring in divers, a reporter-ette asked the man-on-the-scene, "Tell us Jim, what are the divers looking for? Could there be survivors swimming around down there?"
