One question that has never been answered is what happened between Atlanta and Alligator Alley. My road atlas shows 661 miles from Atlanta to Miami, so I guesstimate around 600 miles from Atlanta to Naples.

They were in Atlanta around 11:00am, and they were stopped in Naples 14 hours later, around 1:00am. So these guys who were 5 hours behind at 11:00am took 14 hours to make a easy 10 hour drive. Something doesn't add up.

Where were they and what were they doing for the missing 4 hours? 4 hours is plenty of time to make a delivery anywhere along the west coast of Florida.

Just want to back up your calculations....Florida is a long state...lots bigger than most people realize. But I made it from Pensacola to West Palm Beach in 12 hours. It's about 2 1/2 hours from Atlanta to Tallahassee, 5 hours from Tallahassee to Orlando, and, depending on your route, another 2 to 3 hours to Naples.

"We believe the information (in this case) is not over because of other uncorroborated information we have at the moment," Hunter said.

Maybe this has to do with the missing four hours.

Thanks for the timeline. I have kinda wondered about this myself, but not familiar with Florida, I don't have the info on the shortest routes to travel. There is also the issue of the dogs going crazy over the cars. The dogs don't lie.

One thing that has been bothering me is how they got as far as Naples if LE was really looking for them.

Was the threat given any credence before the tollgate incident?

It is about 10 hours from Atlanta to Tamp, and about 3 hours from Tampa to Naples. Add in time for gas, restrooms, and meals, and there you have it.

It’s about 650 miles from Atlanta to Miami. Like you I would not drive from Atlanta to Miami via Naples. Why not go via Orlando and the Florida Turnpike? Too many police on that route? Any visitor to Florida knows about the police around the Orlando area.

So the question becomes what’s was so important on the west coast of Florida?

Do you add in the amount of auto traffic which can make a one-hour drive into a half-day excursion?

I would also be curious if these guys stopped at or bypassed any of the towns where the 911 hijackers trained or lived.
