This story was originally an article contributed to IndyMedia.org, at 12:27 A.M. on May 6, 2002, written by Ricardo Abude E. Da Silva.
The story was picked up by the U.K. tabloid, London Daily, here; where the editor added this comment:
Note from the editor: Ricardo is the brother of a friend of mine, a Rotarian from the same club as I, so I'm publishing his story without any doubt that it is completely true. My Rotary Club, in the brazilian district 4550, will send a letter to Rotary International's president suggesting he visits the US President to formely protest against this kind of behavior.
The story was recalled at the Tinsoy.com forum, here.
Or what he says is his email address.
Looks familiar... like Palistinian talking points.
Revolted, I witness two INS officers disputing the priviledge of frisking the prettiest ladies, without any concern of hiding their sickening lust from their respective fathers, husbands or brothers, doing their commentaries, invitations, and obscene declarations right on their faces.A bit overdone. Writing *good* fiction is not as easy as it looks.- I've just frisked a disgusting latino....now it's my turn to frisk this Italian fox! - stated an Officer to his coleague, refering to the wife of an Italian tourist. The blunt disrespect made my stomach churn in revolt....
Our issuing a Visa is our invitation to visit our country. Inviting people to come here, and then treating them like this when they get here is wrong. How you treat your guests when they visit is an indication of the character of the host.
But what about security? Clearly something was in this man's file. Whatever it was, if it's enough to get him thrown in a cell and deported, then it's enough to revoke his Visa in the first place. If we think this man is a security risk, the time to deal with it is BEFORE they come here, by revoking their Visa, and withdrawing our invitation to visit.
If some county didn't want me as a visitor, I'd like to know about it ahead of time, and then I'd respect their wishes and stay away. It's just common sense, and common courtesy. How would we like it if we were treated like this when we visit other countries? If this is true, and becomes widespread, we may just find out.
I don't understand the rush to put this story in the "BS" category. I don't know that it's true, but having been through a few airports myself in the last six months, I know it could be. Let's face it folks, the best and the brightest are not going into airport security work for the INS. It's also a fact that there is a type who goes into this line of work because they get to wear a uniform and act like a big shot; we've all seen that happen, from actual policemen to security guards at retail stores. Put a badge on 'em and they turn into little Hitlers. The airports are full of 'em these days. |
You sir have mistake airport security for the Immigration & Naturalization Service, two entirely different jobs and functions.
The INS Inspectors are not security guards; they are Federal Law Enforcement Officers that attend one of the best Law Enforcement Academy in the United States.
I guess it is possible there was a connection from Rio to Sao Paula. Varig flight RG 8836 leaves Sao Paula at 23:50 and gets in LA at 8:00 the next morning. Rio to Sao Paulo would be a short flight, so he could have left at 21:50 and the 7:00 vs. 8:00 could be due to a time change or schedule change. Not that this story is not completely one-sided but it is plausible.
If any one contacts this bozo, ask him why he was refused entry into the US, and then ask him if I can tell you guys the real reason why.
This guys is just like the other 10+ million illegals here in the US and he just got caught.

He says he had a valid visa. If he didn't have one then he richly deserves what he got. But if he did have one...
I don't know much about these things.... Are we in the habit of issuing visas to "illegals"?
