[Exerpt]Reno's camp may sue over touch screens used in Florida primary
MIAMI - (KRT) - Janet Reno's campaign for governor is trying to build a sweeping case against the now-infamous touch-screen voting machines that campaign officials believe may be responsible for Reno losing the Democratic nomination.
The case, summarized in a draft document obtained by The Herald, would not be used to challenge the results of last week's election, even if Bill McBride is certified Tuesday as the nominee, campaign officials said Saturday.
Instead, the evidence would become part of a larger effort to put the blame for Florida's latest election fiasco at the feet of Gov. Jeb Bush and the election reform law he signed with great fanfare last year.
"What we're doing is far more important than whoever the nominee is," said Reno campaign manager Mo Elleithee.

which is exactly why we're republicans, we find that we can rule our selves better than the mobs can rule the whole area. best man wins..... governments should be like refs. not in the game, but keeping everyone in check in case.

To me, the mark of an educated person is the willingness to learn and the knowledge that there is always something more to be learned AND to discard that which is no longer valid. I was happy to lend my experience, and I hope that others will keep teaching me.

Couldn't have anything to do with the fact that you're an unappealing, androgynous, wrinkled old has-been demagogue/Clintonoid that nobody likes, could it? Naaaaaaaahhhh!!

Here is one for all of us Freepers How can you tell that a Dim-wit-rat has used a touch-screen voting machine? By the smudge of white-out on the screen and his fingers!

I was out of the loop a bit. did she ask for a recount in all of Florida or just specific counties (like Goron)? If I recall correctly, Reno asked for a recount of the state but she was turned down by SOS Smith. However, if she can 'find' enough votes to get within 5% of McBride; I believe the statewide recount becomes automatic.

The day of the election, I saw a clip of Heman Reno on tv --Brokejaw's show, in which she said that the blame was with "President Bush." I assume she meant Gov. Bush, but there was no comment from the reporter on the story. Since I am one of about 500 people nationwide who even watch little Tommy's show, I guess no one else caught this.

Additionally, the margin of difference is one-half of a percent (0.5%) for a state mandated recount. I guess that this has to be from the 1st compiled vote count following the primary election.

...she said that the blame was with "President Bush." I don't know, she probably 'thinks' that the President is like his predecessor, her former boss. If Willy had Roger as Gov of Florida (I can't believe I just wrote that) would you believe that he wouldn't have operatives all over making sure things went expeditiously? El Reno had 7 years of this as well as her own actions as both AGUSA and as a Florida Prosecutor so she probably thinks that this just what the President would do.
