MIAMI --
Election workers in Janet Reno's stronghold of Broward County have found uncounted votes from last week's primary, though officials didn't say how many.
The votes were found Saturday in a precinct that first reported no votes, said Willie Weslie, project manager with Election Systems & Software Inc., which made the touchscreen voting machines used in the county.
That precinct, with 832 registered voters, was among 247 that Reno has asked officials to review in her battle with Bill McBride for the Democratic nomination.
"I don't know what happened in every case. I just know 1/8poll workers 3/8 had procedures and didn't follow them," said Weslie.
Weslie said poll workers in the precinct should have inserted a cartridge in the machines, which would have collected the votes when polls closed. But they did not, he said, so the empty cartridge made it appear that no votes were cast.
Workers examined touchscreen voting machines until shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday, and were expected to continue Sunday. The deadline for counties to report official vote tallies to the state is 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Election Supervisor Miriam Oliphant's office would not discuss the uncounted votes.
"Once the process is complete, the supervisor of elections will have a statement with respect to that and every other issue her office feels is necessary to assure the voters of Broward County that every vote will be counted," said spokesman Rick Riley.
Reno trailed McBride by 8,196 votes in unofficial counts from the state. The 247 precincts she asked to be reviewed have 15,841 voters.
Reno has also asked Miami-Dade County officials to check for lost votes. Officials there found more than 1,800 uncounted votes from four precincts Thursday, and were reviewing touchscreen voting machines to determine if more were unreported.
Miami and Broward counties used the same touchscreen machines made by Election Systems & Software.

WILL THE WORLD ACCEPT THIS FRAUD?
THIS JUST IN: "Democrats and Janet Reno have hired
Ms. Clio who has said that, based on the counterfeit votes, Reno won.
CBS, NBC and ABC say Ms. Clio's findings are more than good enough for them."
They are framing Bush, those same places that gave republican observers the boot during the Chad Gore debacle.
Duh. Union/mob mistake. Then they point their meaty fingers at Jeb Bush.
That view would only hold if Bush is held responsible.
The Democratic leaders of those polling places were responsible for making sure everyone knew how to work the machines.
This only shows that it is the Democrats who cannot even handle an election, no less run a gov't!
One final point.
Those who voted against Reno are not going to be happy about having their election stolen from them (yet again in their minds) so I see many not getting behind Reno, if by some 'miracle' she pulls it out.
Then they point their slimy, manicured fingers at Jeb.
It's known pretty widely that Florida is swarming with mafia members.
No, even Floriduh liberals wouldn't go that far. Instead, they will automatically register your Democratic vote unless you fill out your intent, in triplicate, a month in advance, to vote for another party, and then show up between 6 and 6:30 am at a single designated polling place, fill out another form, affirm your intent by loudly shouting "I am a traitor and wish to vote for a loser," and then completing a specially-designed ballot - unless, of course, the ballots are mysteriously not available until after the polls close.
I don't know if that's their intent....but I agree, something's up here.
Rational thinking: Since this is the very county involved in the Chad Gore debacle, you'd think they'd have made EVERY EFFORT to ENSURE that voting scandal would not recur. We have a major election around the corner......maybe they are "practicing" for a new debacle, then can "look back at what happened in the primaries." (Just a thought here.)
Excellent point. If they care, they would ask for a second copy of instructions well ahead of time, after they ehem, 'lost' the first copy.
I think that this was a straightforward attempt to steal the election.
Play #5 from the 'Rat playbook (there are only five plays, BTW), is to throw enough dirt in the air that you can use the ensuing confusion to stuff the ballot boxes to steal a close election. I think this is so routine that some of these poll workers hardly realize they are doing anything wrong. This is just the way they do it down there.
The only reason Floriduh gets so much bad press is because they have had close elections. Close elections in any other state would have the same problems in predominantly 'Rat districts. It's just that they don't bother to make a stink in blow-outs.
So we have two choices for what happened:
The poll workers in these precincts are incompetents (Democrats I assume since it is a Reno strong hold).
They did it intentionally so they could manufacture the votes necessary for Reno to win if the election was close enough that a few votes could make a difference.
Considering the simplicity of the task and the known moral superiority of Democrats, I must assume the former that the poll workers are incompetents. excuse may sarcasm please
They can "mess up" all they want to but the Dems cannot possibly hope to smear Jeb Bush with their own mess. The fact that Terry McAuliffe has been trying just exposes the Dems even further--if that's possible--as reckless retards bent on political victory at any cost.
Rather, this just points out that THEY think they somehow made political points in 2000, that other, rational minds actually agree with them.
I don't think they realize how they are the butt of jokes throughout the Union, because they are perceived as this stupid--again.
If they reported no votes in a precinct, I, too, think something fishy is going on.
