NAPLES, Florida (CNN) --The Georgia woman who prompted Friday's terror scare was "flat-out lying" when she told authorities she overheard three Muslim men at a restaurant laughing about September 11 and making suspicious comments, one of the men said late Friday.

I watched the cops right before they were released and to that moment they said they were not cooperative

Would you lose control of the conversation and joke about September 11th?
I'm glad to hear they are good at controlling their public conversations about 9/11. Most people, of course, don't have to control anything.

"...maybe she put a little salt and pepper in her story..."
So she maybe exagerated about what she heard? That is very different from making it all up.

footnote: Fox announced today that the hospital they were going to has canceled them

"...I think it's time for us as Americans to put down our big sticks..."
Most Americans do not believe we are oppressing people with big sticks.

"That is the most ignorant and biased statement I have seen here on FR in quite some time." Think and say what you want. I have seen several documentary type shows over the past few years in which cops have said they do this to achieve their objective. I'm not making a judgement, just citing an observation. If you are calling me a liar, then it is you who is making an ignorant and biased statement.

"during the course of the investigation someone told the media that the plates were stolen and they blew through the toll booth." You didn't read my post very well. It was an LE spokesmen at a press briefing who said that the plates didn't match. It was also widely reported at the end of this whole thing that they were cited for running through the toll booth. Strange action if they didn't actually do it.
To: sweetliberty
They received no citation for blowing through the toll booth.
To: CharacterCounts
Then I guess the cops were lying about that too. Oh wait, that's right cops don't lie. < /sarcasm >
To: sweetliberty
I think Cindy is a little naive about how cops work. Standard police pactice is to lie to a suspect to make him think you have more on him than you really do.

Can you imagine if a group you or I belonged to was in this situation? Say wizards or supply siders had blown up 3,000 innocents. I'm sure we would say "Yes, officer, I understand completely, what would you like to know? I am totally opposed to terrorism, let me help you in any way I can."
If these guys are not terrorists, they are huge jerks and poor citizens.
To: nopardons
I just heard that these guys had their medical internships withdrawn.
To: sweetliberty
Nowhere on this entire did I say that the cops lied about anything. The media reported misinformtion which was later cleared up. If anything some people gave information to the media before it was checked out thoroughly. The authorities conducted the investigation in a proper manner. It just so happens that the authorities have ckeared these men, why can't you.
To: CharacterCounts
" It just so happens that the authorities have ckeared these men, why can't you." Because I do not believe them, plain and simple and I think that there is more to this story.

Did they or didn't they?
Well If the Police say they did, then it is on tape, Audio tape for sure, Video tape maybe. Not that we will hear or see those those tapes, but you can rest assured they were made just in case of a civil lawsuit.
And a short little memo to their little sister claiming racism: welcome to the twenty first century darling,
If Florida and Georgia was a tenth as racist as you would say we are, these three young men would be alligator bait in the canal less then 50 feet of the road along Alligator Alley, shot while trying to escape and thrown in to feed the local critters.
It used to happen, sugar, But we have become more tolerant of others, don't give us reason to backslide to those mean old days.

i also just heard on FNC that Larkin cancelled there studies there. Larkin said they got a whole bunch of hate mail but the CEO was going to help them find another Hospital for their studies.

Not paying the toll was indicative of someone that had no respect for the laws here. They did pay the toll. the second car paid for both cars. Try again.
If this were the case why didn't they stop and tell the toll booth operator that the next car was paying the toll. No dice. According to the first reports, the police had trouble getting them to stop.
So they decided in advance that the second car was going to pay the toll rather than just pay it themselves. If this is the case, it sounds like they were hoping to be stopped.

I am presently reading the Quoran, and so far,my conclusions is that ISLAM SUCKS!
