GOP: MIAMI-DADE IN COUNTYWIDE RECOUNT - BROWARD SHOULD BE NEXT

TALLAHASSEE - Miami-Dade elections officials began a countywide recount at 1:00 p.m. today, due to yesterday's review of just four precincts, which revealed over 1,800 votes that had not been counted.

Given the massive and well-documented problems in Broward County, which utilized the same new electronic voting machines as in Miami-Dade, the Broward County Supervisor of Elections should IMMEDIATELY begin a recount of all their precincts, machines and tabulators, to make certain every legal vote is counted. Based on a troubling recent report that three voting machines were found THIS MORNING still at a polling place in Fort Lauderdale, the only prudent action is a full recount in Broward.

The Republican Party of Florida demands an immediate recount in Broward - forming an election oversight board is not enough - only by counting every legal vote in this election can amends begin to be made to the betrayed voters in Broward County.

I said almost 2 years ago that if they just required an IQ test in which prospective voters had to score higher than the average potato, a lot of this could be avoided. I used the butterfly ballot for years. Never even occurred to me that there might be a question with it. I also used an coputerized voting machine like the new ones in Florida to vote in the 2000 primaries, first time I ever used one. The only way it could get any easier is to use one of these, and somehow I think they would still screw it up:

Oh, but they are. They're blaming it on Bush again, if you can believe it. I saw McAuliffe on this morning.

They even gave the Dems full reign over revamping the voting process, machines, ballots and polsters. What a joke.

I'm not sure whether the appropriate response is laughter or disgust. I guess both.

Okay, if a Miami-Dade recount brings Reno within .5% of McBride, does that trigger a statewide recount?

I didn't think it was possible for the Rats to sink to new lows. But then, they always do. I don't know why I'm surprised.

Florida REPUBLICAN Primary Comment Thread.

Check out Janet's 3 "problem" counties at post #41. She did really well in these 3 counties...a few more hours and Janet may have pulled it off.

This just came across the wire!

Reno Seeks Statewide Recount in Fla.

By ALLEN G. BREED
.c The Associated Press

MIAMI (AP) - Janet Reno asked for a manual, statewide recount Friday of all votes in Florida's bungled gubernatorial primary as Miami-Dade County officials continued finding hundreds, if not thousands, of votes that went uncounted.

Reno said she made the request of the state Elections Canvassing Commission ``to determine the expressed will of the voters'' and to ``ensure that the votes of all Democrats in the state who voted in the primary would be counted.''

Tampa lawyer Bill McBride, a political newcomer, declared victory Thursday with an unofficial lead of about 8,000 votes out of 1.3 million cast in Tuesday's balloting. But Reno refused to concede, saying there were discrepancies in at least 80 Miami-Dade precincts.

It's great to hear the word "recount" and not get a knot in my stomach.

You're just echoing my feelings.

The word recount has such a negative connotation with me, that I've been readjusting this week to the point that I almost enjoy reading about a recount of Democratic votes.

This is atomic self-destruction for the Democratic Party this fall

This is great news -- I just posted the AP article here about it -- the longer this goes the better for Jeb. Here he is as the Governor this morning holding a press conference while the RATS fight it out!

They are still finding votes BTW!!!!
