"But there were also false prophets among the people just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign lord who bought thembringing swift destruction on themselves." 2 Peter 2:1

They've bought the very first lie...."hast God said?".....

Wow...well, I guess it depends on how far you want to take the definition of "hospitality." Personally my limit is a nice cup of tea, but them maybe I'm being old-fashioned...

First they hijacked the word "gay", now they're hijacking the term "hospitality". Gives a whole new meaning to the word, for sure.
Frankly, I wish the homosexual community would live their lives in peace, and allow us to do the same. If it weren't for their constant drum beat, I wouldn't be forced to evaluate their activites constantly. I'd rather leave it to God.

I avoid the problems with these new translations by sticking with the Geneva Bible, or the Authorized Version, or Luther's german Bible (with modernized spelling) or St. Jerome's Vulgate. Newer translations may be slightly more accurate, but I trust the translators less and less. The older Bibles have stood the test of time, and are inspired writing in their respective languages.

Don't tell me, let me guess. Instead of Adam & Eve they really did use Adam & Steve, right?

The Sin Of Inhospitality!!The depraved deviants wanted to bugger the guests. That is a bit more specific than being inhospitable.
That anyone would even bother with this effort to distort and redefine, shows the fallacy in the purely verbal argument. The best defense to the Leftists who seek to revise our perceptions of reality by changing nomenclature and making devious verbal arguments, is to keep vivid pictures of reality in one's mind. When the Bible speaks about certain acts, it is referring to certain concrete and disgusting acts, not a philosophic abstraction.
I feel truly sorry for people who are afflicted with sexual dysfunction. I would not hurt such people. But it is absolutely intolerable, when advocates for such people, seek to deny reality, in order to pursue the looniest of all the looney versions of the myth of human equality--that which seeks to equate the perverse with the normal.

that God allegedly destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for the sin of inhospitality not homosexual sin. This would be hilarious if it weren't so blasphemous.

So if I read this right, the Lord God Creator of the universe utterly destroyed the two cities of the plain by raining fire and brimstone down apon them thus making them an example to all men and nations thoughout eternity
for bad manners?OK. Sure!

Changing the commentaries doesn't change the plain meaning of the text. They can explain it away if they like but the difference that's like day and night between the Bible's view of man and life and theirs is going to be around forever. I wouldn't worry about this new edition of the Oxford Annotated Bible gaining widespread acceptance. As a politically correct liberal reading of the Scriptures, its destined for the discount store bin. No one apart from a few liberals and gays will ever read it.

So how exactly did they translate Leviticus 18:22 which says, "Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable?"

I feel sorry for the person who wrote this new piece of junk. Dey's gonna answer to God when they die. Hot Diggity! Pretty soon they'll have "bibles" that take out any reference to murder as a sin or perhaps stealing, it might offend someone. Heaven forbid *rolls eyes*
