Sorry should have mage it clear. It's from a brit-geek cult fantasy '60s TV program
Thunderbirds Are Go
To: Lunatic Fringe
If that pic is legit, there was no missile or anything involved.
The islamic guys simply drove the plane into the ground instead of giving up.

If it wasn't shot down, why the debris trail 8-10 miles behind the plane?

"Does the government Lie ? All the time."
Ah yes, when left with nothing else, we can always fall back on that line. An "INORDINATELY LONG" period of time???? We knew what Todd Beamer said and did less than a week after September 11. If you don't trust the government than you are a member in good standing with the rest of America, but don't try to make stuff up to prove your point. This article is bogus. There are plenty of real lies that aren't based on conspiracy crap like this.

I don't know. 93 seemed a 'cleaned' impact than 587.. That's for sure.
That picture was taken seconds after impact, and there would have to be a trail of some sort if there was damage. Unless the picture is touched up, or the trail is behind the smoke, I just can't imagine it anymore.

I must admit, if you add up the elapsed time on the event's time line, it doesn't seem that an airliner could stay air-borne for 10 minutes after taking a missle hit.
What altitude was this plane at when the struggle started?
To: Minutemen
Apparently, and I only remember this off some news report, so don't take it as close to fact, that 93 was flying at a particularly low altitude before it nosed down and crashed.
Did the islamics maybe have a bomb on board, like they said? If someone didn't like what was happening, did it blow by remote? Maybe!

Did you see the 60 minutes interview of Bush the other night?

The islamic guys simply drove the plane into the ground instead of giving up And that is what I think happened at the last. The terrorists were losing control of the plane and drove it quickly into the ground. The last thing heard was Akbar Allah, or whatever they say.

I would underscore the points you have made. I was in Shanksville about four hours after the crash, and spoke with a number of people about what they saw/heard. Also watched the news conferences there with Ridge/state police and the FBI. Also took the "tour" of the crash site, from a distance. There was basically nothing to see except for a big "dent" in the dirt and some damaged trees.
A TV reporter who managed to get up close to the crash site and later got arrested did get his video on TV. The largest piece of debris he found was about four inches square.
I am not a physicist so I can't tell you what this means. What I can tell you is that I have seen a number of plane crashes up close. I have never before seen one where there was basically nothing left to be seen.
All the reports you have read from the scene note this.
I can also tell you this: there was plenty of army there (there is a base nearby)..and plenty of questions asked, but absolutely nobody that I saw or spoke with mentioned a "white plane" flying around. Later in the day, when they flew in some excavation equipment on a jet, people in Shanksville were worried about another possible hijacking, since the planes had been grounded by that time.
There were some later media reports in the local papers about a lear jet, but nothing that I recall about a military jet in the air just prior to the crash. (There were plenty afterward).
Also -- I have never seen the woman mentioned above interviewed locally or nationally, on TV or in newspapers, and I have watched and read a LOT in the last year, and there aren't that many people in Shanksville to begin with. Sounds pretty fishy to me. Anything is possible, I suppose, but after having read the threads from the people who listened to the cockpit tapes last year I find it really hard to believe the government would/could shoot down the plane and lie about it in this fashion.
There were reports on local radio within 2 hours of the crash of someone onboard the flight calling the local 9-1-1 dispatcher reporting the flight had been hijacked.
I don't think the Westmoreland County Sheriff's Office could be co-opted into a conspiracy that quickly. But some people will.
To: Monty22
Maybe the hijackers panicked when the passengers tried to rush the cockpit and tried to stop their advance by "shaking" the plane. They were obviously not very experienced pilots, so they maybe pushed the plane beyond its limits and it started to break apart in flight and it was only a matter of time before the aircraft went down. That would explain the large debris field and the smoke.
Can't remember whether the flight data recorder was found (I don't think it was) but it could clear up that guess.
I find it hard to believe that the Bush Administration would be dumb enough to risk the backlash that would ensue after the public learned of the "coverup" of the shoot-down of Flight 93. Eventually, the truth would come out. Then again, nobody had much time to think up a plan of action, and whatever decision was made at the time (if one was made) on how to explain the crash could not have been reversed.
We'll never have definitive proof of whether the "official" version of Flight 93's fate is the truth. All we can do is trust that our government is not lying to us.

The Blue Angels do not fly F-16s and never did...A4s, F4s, F18s, yes, but the F-16 is a USAF bird.

Of all the conspiracy theories this one has to be the sickest. What happened on Flight 93? What happened is a bunch of ordinary citizens became uncommon heroes.
Why does the tin foil hat crowd have to try and take that away from those heroes?
To: CWOJackson
Why does the tin foil hat crowd have to try and take that away from those heroes? The answer is simple, they would not have done what Beamer and the rest did.
To: CWOJackson
Any liberal or democrat in congress should hang their head in shame..
They are against war.. They would be *DEAD* if not for the action of a few brave Americans, who gave their lives to save them.
There's no excuse for the Rats to be against this. They were so close to be vapor themselves.

I have to go with the families. They are some of the few that actually heard the tapes from the plane. They are not allowed to talk in detail, but they have spoken to some extent and to a man you can see they believe the passengers took that plane down. I seem to remember an FR thread a while ago about this, and it seemed fairly clear the plane wasn't shot down.
To: Monty22
Notice that Lee Purbaugh, quoted above, is also quoted in the link in my last post. And here's what he has to say about the "mystery plane"
from here." The fate of United Airlines Flight 93, the last of the four hijacked planes to go down in the United States on 11 September, holds no mystery for Lee Purbaugh. He saw what happened with his own eyes. He was the only person present in the field where, at 10.06am, the aircraft hit the ground..."
"Lee Purbaugh is one of at least half a dozen named individuals who have reported seeing a second plane flying low and in erratic patterns, not much above treetop level, over the crash site within minutes of the United flight crashing. They describe the plane as a small, white jet with rear engines and no discernible markings. Purbaugh, who served three years in the US Navy, said he did not believe it was a military plane.
This should close the discussion, imho.
To: fone; Bloody Sam Roberts
I am completely with you, fone and Bloody Sam:
It does not matter wether flt 93 was shot or forced down; all involved are heroes!!!!!!!!
A geezer,
