Good evening. A long year has passed since enemies attacked our country. We've seen the images so many times, they are seared on our souls, and remembering the horror, reliving the anguish, re-imagining the terror is hard and painful.
For those who lost loved ones, it's been a year of sorrow, of empty places, of newborn children who will never know their fathers here on earth.

I have my major concerns about many policies of this administration. The "Patriot Act" has gone way too far and attacks our constitutional rughts in the name of a flase security IMHO. Campaign Finance reform was a blow to all of our freedoms IMHO. The Immigration Policy is a shambles and inviting more terror and socialization into our country.
But this speech was inspiring and very much right on the money regarding the war on terrorists abroad and those who abett them.
So, with respect to this speech, the administrations stand on the 2nd amendment and my hold-out that they will be equally strong on the abortion issue (we'll know for sure the 1st Supreme Court vacancy they fill), I give the President very high marks.
If the 2nd amendment is defended, if we agressively go after the enemies of this nation and if the unborn are protected, I will thank God and believe we are turning the corner ... despite the other globalist, social policies I am directly and unalterably opposed to.

we'll know for sure the 1st Supreme Court vacancy they fillI would change that to "attempt to fill", unless we conservatives do all we can to get him a Republican majority in the Senate.
Damn right.
I pray we will, and we will do it forcefully. I believe we should be mobilizing on almost a full, world war scale though. The forces who go to the mid-east will be surrounded by belligerents. In addition, we must be prepared for China and N. Korea to act against our interests if we get fully engaged in the Mid East.
Take that you dems and UN members!
My three major points for any Federal position are ... Abortion, 2nd amendment and strong defense.
After that come all of the myriad laws and socialization that are tapping our strength and infringing on our other rights.
I figure as long as enough of us are armed, and as long as God in Heaven supports us (and I believe He will not support us unless we fight abortion forcefully ... just my opinion) that we will have the opportunity to make ground on the other issues. If we lose those two ... we will lose ground extremely rapidly and go down.
We don't want or need Koni telling us when we can and cannot apply direct force to protect ourselves. In fact, we will spit in his eye if he tries to prevent our collective right to defend ourselves, just as we must to those who would take our individual right to do so away.
Iraq, Iran, Syria and Lybia have all been directly involved in terror activities against US citizens and interests over the years. it's time to take out all of that trash IMHO.
Souunds like that choice is almost between similar people philosophicallyIt's a hypothetical in that they are not running against each other (and I don't even think they are up for election this year in any case).
My point is that even the most conservative of Democrat will help the Democrats maintain the majority in the Senate, which means a majority on the Judiciary committee, which means that no one gets through if not passing the leftist litmus tests put in place by Leahy and Kennedy.
Everyone does have to make up their mind it is true. But any race that is lost by a Republican Senatorial candidate this November, even RINOs, is a blow to the chances of conservative judges.
This November, even RINOs should get our full support.
I still wait and listen to the candidates' messages and then look at their record. I will vote for the people who will support those three issues I pointed out tooth and nail ... whomever they are. Of course this means that there is a snow balls chance that would ever be a democrat these days. But I listen and decide just the same so as to insure I am never guilty of putting party over country or principle.
Here in Idaho ... things as regards those issues are very straight forward.
You are definitely right in the SenateThat is all I was talking about, since we got off on this tangent because of the judiciary and the Senate is where the problem in this regard is.
We keep it because those same types push it today and have a lot of money, lobbying and influence behind them.
We need to be completely shed and rid of it. We need to spit in their eye and send them packing. The sooner the better. Yesterday ... last year ... twenty years ago was not too soon.
