CBS just announced that on an Al-Qaeda website in the Sudan, Bin Laden died at TOra Bora!
You were right about the i42 not ever going away. My boyfriend's father died on inauguration day afternoon while we were in DC and one of his first reactions was that his old man had lived to see IT out of office. He then reiterated his goal in life which is to live long enough to p*ss on i42's grave.
Terrorists are not suspended in mid-air. It takes the active support of states to provide the cover an organization like Al-Qaeda needs. That is why Saddam needs to be taken out. The WMD is important, and I'm not discounting it... but he is working through and with Al Qaeda... and other organizations.
Hezzbollah doesn't work independent of Islamic Jihad. Nor does Hamas work independent of Al Qaeda. These organizations get political and financial support from Iraq, Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia.
Just follow the trail of the Iranian revolution. See how those groups worked together for the otherthrow of the Shah. See, how Iran works now through Hezzbollah, Islamic Jihad.
What the media wants to do is just separate the entities from each other. If we allow that to happen... then terrorism cannot be defeated. Because Hamas will just absorb the men, supplies, sources of Al Qaeda.
Al Qaeda is one head of a multi-headed snake.
We dropped more bombs on the VC in the Vietnam War than in all of WWII, and it obviously didn't kill all of them off. Bombing is overrated (unless you drop Nuclear bombs).
I don't know much about Sudan, but I assume there are competing factions in their warlords. 9/11 could have sparked a resurgency in the more militant ones.
Also, I remember there were reports early in the war w/Afghanistan that some al-Qaeda were fleeing to Sudan, though I don't know if the reports were accurate.
Also, I believe the government of Sudan would be loathe to defy the PRC-owned oil developers if they chose to aid a-Q...
OTOH, I've seen speculation on this thread that if Bush wanted to announce that OBL was dead to end the dim's "one front at a time" argument, we could have set up the site. But since that would cause more problems than it would solve, I rather doubt it. It would risk enraging the muslim world and give the naysayers a reason to block the attack on Iraq.
So the idea that the site is an Iraqi operation is not out of the question, either.
I smell a rat.

Dog, can you use your translator On this page
Are you sure?
I finally was able to access it and it's an ENglish speaking site, with some PR crap about their "name" and that they are sorry about 9/11.... I mean if this is the source, this is a big joke/hoax.
Or vice-versa?
;^)
This plays to Bush's hand...
Remember Clinton's idiotic remarks last week...something to the effect of "no Saddam until we know Osama is gone"....well...
Guess what time it is?
I would love for this to be true (the pig's death) and I didn't see the different spelling! :)
Actually, I watched a History Channel show about that a few years ago. Supposedly, the Soviet troops did find his body and that of Eva Braun. They found Hitler's dentist, in Berlin, to identify Hitler by dental x-rays. They also found the bodies of Joseph Goebbels, his wife and six children. According to the program, the Soviets kept the bodies until 1947, when they finally cremated them and scattered the ashes in East Germany. (File this under things you don't want to know.)
ET and Rummy Chick.....NUKE is in the URL at that site..
